Eli Manning pokes fun at Giants fans as Odell Beckham reunion chatter rages on.
This offseason, a key ongoing storyline has been a potential reunion with Odell Beckham Jr. As people around the league continue to weigh in on the possible move, Eli Manning decided to have some fun with the fanbase.
For weeks now, fans have been imploring the front office to sign the former Pro-Bowl wide receiver. The discourse has ramped up recently following news that the team brought him in for a workout.
As another Beckham highlight reel made the rounds online, Manning took it as an opportunity to be witty. He sarcastically told the world to stop asking for him to come out of retirement and suit up for New York again.
Manning is one of the most famous figures in Giants history, delivering the franchise two Super Bowl victories during his playing career. His time on the field is long behind him, as he remains around the game in an analyst/broadcasting role now.
In his post-playing days, Manning is regularly on social media interacting with the football world. Most of his antics are light-hearted, though he did recently go viral for sounding off on a critic trying to diminish his career.
A few weeks ago, one NFL gave his stance regarding Manning’s career. He feels Matt Ryan was a more accomplished player, but people put the Giants legend ahead of him all-time just because of his Super Bowl victories.
Manning jabbed at the fan for his take, saying that he’ll ponder this stance while admiring his pair of championship rings.
Ryan had a successful career, throwing for over 62,000 yards and securing MVP honors in 2016. That said, his postseason success does not come close to that of Manning.
All offseason, fans have pleaded for the Giants to bring back Beckham to potentially end his career in New York. While there have been some updates on the situation, it doesn’t appear that the team has gotten any closer to a decision.
Since his private workout in April, numerous members of the Giants have stated that he put together a strong showing. However, all the reporting following the visit was that things were still unclear when it came to an offer being handed out. Now weeks later, this still seems to be the case.
While responding to a fan on X/Twitter, NFL reporter Ryan Dunleavy weighed in on the Giants signing Beckham before the 2026 season gets underway. He hasn’t been much of a believer from the beginning, and noted that things haven’t progressed between the two sides.
Beckham is far from the star offensive talent he once was, but many believe he still has something to give an NFL team. He remains confident in his abilities, which is why he continues to pursue a roster spot for the upcoming season.
Still with time to make finishing touches to the roster, it remains unclear if the Giants will complete this reunion or opt to go in a different direction.
