Cam Ward‘s first season in the NFL didn’t go so great.
The Tennessee Titans went 3-14. Brian Callahan was fired after going 1-5 to start the previous season. Ward tied for the most sacked quarterbacks in the league, among the notable.
Changes across the board for the Titans, the organization is headed in the right direction. With a new coaching staff, new weapons, and help on the front five for the starting quarterback, Tennessee is lined up for a strong season in 2026.

Cam Ward performed well for the Tennessee Titans despite being tied for the worst record in the NFL in the 2025 season. The quarterback threw for 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns, while being a threat with his legs, rushing for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Now getting more experience under Robert Saleh and his coaching staff, Ward is expected to reach a new level in year 2.
Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay predicts the quarterback will reach “stardom” status in his sophomore season.
“After the previous regime struggled to unlock the potential of Cam Ward, the Tennessee Titans elected to make sweeping regime changes this offseason… The team now has hopes of contending with a new front office and coaching staff that has built a promising roster around the 2025 No. 1 overall pick,” Kay wrote.
“The Tennessee offense should be far more creative in 2026 thanks to the arrival of OC Brian Daboll… A lack of playmakers to throw to won’t be a problem this year, either, as the Titans utilized the No. 4 overall pick to make a game-changing addition in Carnell Tate. Once you factor in a shrewd Wan’Dale Robinson pickup and several offensive-line improvements, it’s easy to envision Ward having a highly successful sophomore season.”
Ward praised his new offensive coordinator, saying Daboll will put the team in the best situation and will hold him to a high standard.
After the Titans selected Tate with the fourth-overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, he said, “Whenever [Ward] needs me, I’ll be there for him. I’m always open.”
With a whole new look and steady progress, Cam Ward could be in line for a strong second season.

First things first for Cam Ward is understanding his new offensive coordinator’s playbook.
Brian Daboll spoke to reporters and revealed that the quarterback has been picking up the new offense quickly.
“He wants to be great. He is instinctive. When we are just watching the tape, he is able to communicate the things that he sees and why he did certain things when we watch the tape from last year,” Daboll said, via the Titans.
“When we are installing the new system to him, concepts and things like that, he is able to pick things up very quickly. It has been awesome to work with him.”
With Cam Ward understanding the new offense, the quarterback could come swinging right out of the gate and help the Titans make the playoffs in Robert Saleh’s first year as the head coach.
