Bron Breakker is a two-time NXT Champion and former Intercontinental Champion

For now, a potentially lucrative career with WWE will have to wait for Brock Rechsteiner.

Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, has signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent, the team announced.

Rechsteiner played wide receiver at Jacksonville State, finishing with 52 receptions for 630 yards and seven touchdowns in 32 career games. Over the weekend, he participated in the Saints’ rookie minicamp and turned heads.

Rechsteiner was invited to a tryout with the Tennessee Titans earlier this spring, but left Nashville without a contract.

Now, he will try to fulfill his NFL dream as a member of the New Orleans Saints.

For what its worth, competition isn’t necessarily steep in New Orleans. Oft-injured wideout Chris Olave and 2026 first-round pick Jordyn Tyson are currently the projected starters.

Behind them, the Saints don’t have many proven pass-catchers.

Last season, the Saints finished with 19 receiving touchdowns, tied for the fourth-lowest total in the National Football League.

Still, the undrafted Rechsteiner will have his work cut out to crack the 53-man roster.

On the bright side, a fame-filled career in the squared circle awaits if football doesn’t pan out.

Brock Rechsteiner Hails From WWE Royalty

During his heyday in WWE and TNA, Scott Steiner was known as “Big Poppa Pump,” a moniker that highlighted his hulking physique.

Steiner famously referred to himself as a “genetic freak” in his hilarious, mathematically inaccurate TNA promo.

Although he said it in jest, the Steiner family tree has proven capable of producing athletic marvels.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Steiner wrestled alongside his older brother Rick as The Steiner Brothers. He won several tag team titles, including the WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW World Tag Team Championship, IWGP Tag Team Championship, and the TNA/Impact World Tag Team Championship.

Decades later, Steiner’s son, Bron Breakker, blossomed into one of the fastest rising stars in WWE history.

Breakker, known as “The Unpredictable Badass,” is among the most feared active WWE stars.

A former Baltimore Ravens fullback, Breakker carried his relentless intensity from the gridiron to the squared circle.

During his three-year run in NXT, beginning in 2021, Breakker was a two-time NXT Champion. He also carried feuds with Carmelo Hayes, Baron Corbin and Tyler Bate.

Breakker made his SmackDown in-ring debut in February 2024 following his time in NXT. Although he competed in a singles match against LA Knight on RAW in 2021, his 2024 promotion was his official departure from NXT.

Since his call-up, Breakker has been a one-time Intercontinental Champion. He has made two WrestleMania appearances.

Now paired with The Oracle, Paul Heyman, Breakker projects to be one of the future pillars of WWE.

Saints WR Eyeing WWE After His Football Retirement

While his focus is on improving with the Saints, Rechsteiner has already fantasized a career in pro wrestling.

Rechsteiner said he still plans to pursue wrestling one day and signed an NIL deal with WWE in 2025.

“I want to play football as long as I can,” said Rechsteiner, according to ESPN.

Rechsteiner also said he has modeled his own work ethic after his family members.

“My dad is a very hard worker, my uncle is a hard worker, my cousin Bron Breaker is a very hard worker, so it kind of just showed us how hard we need to work to be great at what we want to do,” Rechsteiner said.
