The Minnesota Vikings are still in the process of polishing off their 2026 offseason acquisitions.

Out of those already made, Minnesota has made some big splashes. In free agency, notable names they acquired Kyler Murray, Jauan Jennings, and James Pierre. They also added names like Caleb Banks, Jake Golday, and Domonique Orange in the 2026 NFL Draft.

They also had some notable departures. WR Jalen Nailor found a pay day in Las Vegas with the Raiders. P Ryan Wright went to New Orleans, Jonathan Allen found home in Cincinnati, and Javon Hargrave went across the border to Green Bay.

These were certainly tough decisions to make to let these players go. While you want to keep together a team and promote continuity, that’s not the reality in the NFL. These decisions to keep or let players go are the same every year, and they will remain that way in 2027.

Vikings Have Decisions to Make Ahead of 2027 Season

The Minnesota Vikings have a long-list of notable pending free agents to make decisions on ahead of the 2027 season.

• CB Isaiah Rodgers Sr.
• LB Ivan Pace Jr.

There likely could be extensions dealt out to at least a few of these gentlemen over the next few months. NFL teams usually get a year ahead of the contract’s expiration so the pending free agents can’t negotiate with other teams.

There are a few of these names, however, that will not be extended this offseason. Kyler Murray and Jauan Jennings are on that list, seeing as they signed in Minnesota this offseason. Aaron Jones won’t get one either, as his deal was revised this offseason as well. Ivan Pace Jr. was tendered by the Vikings, meaning he will make around $3 million this offseason. In simpler terms, he signed a 1-year/$3 million deal and will need a new contract next offseason.

Per OverTheCap, the Vikings currently have $56.7 million in cap space in 2027, the 14th-most in the NFL as it stands.

Dallas Turner Named Next ‘Great’ Edge Rusher

Pro Football Focus recently released a piece detailing the next great NFL player at each position. At edge rusher, the Minnesota Vikings would be pleased to see that they went with Dallas Turner.

“Turner’s first two seasons with the Vikings haven’t seen him become an outward star. That could look different in 2026.

The former 17^th overall pick finished with 65.5 and 64.1 overall PFF grades in 2025 and 2024, respectively. But last year was a step in the right direction, as Turner accrued a 70.2 PFF pass-rush grade with 42 pressures and a 12.0% pass-rush win rate.

With Jonathan Greenard now on the Eagles, Turner has a clear runway to both meaningful playing time and improved production for Minnesota.”

Turner now has the major opportunity to truly turn it on and make a name for himself in the NFL. He will be starting across from Andrew Van Ginkel, filling in the void for Jonathan Greenard.

The former Alabama defender will have a decision made on his fifth-year option next offseason, and has two seasons to put on a show in order to get a big-time pay day.
