NFL.com's Tom Blair included Seattle Seahawks running back Jadarian Price on a list of rookies in the best position to succeed.

While it didn’t offer the best value, there’s a lot to like about Jadarian Price landing with the Seattle Seahawks. A lot of pundits have expressed their love for the selection over the past couple weeks.

Even with the team’s rookie minicamp in the rearview mirror, Price continues to get hype as a first-year breakout candidate.

NFL.com’s Tom Blair is one of the latest to add to the hype train. On May 5, Blair included Price on his list of ten rookies in the best position for success.

Price came in at No. 9 on the list.

“Price doesn’t need to carry Seattle entirely by himself. He just needs to fit into an established offense led by Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, providing a reasonably close facsimile of the juice that Walker brought,” wrote Blair.

“As recently recounted in The Athletic, Notre Dame running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider pegged the outside-zone running scheme — which new Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Fleury is expected to continue operating — as Price’s “love language” in an interview with KJR-FM, a take that Price did not dispute at his introductory news conference. And Seider highlighted another plus: Price’s experience making an impact while sharing snaps with Jeremiyah Love, which should come in handy once Zach Charbonnet returns from a torn ACL.

“Is there a better first gig out there than jumping into an important supporting role for the defending Super Bowl champs?”

The Seahawks picked Price at No. 32 during the 2026 NFL Draft. He was the final selection of the first round.

Seahawks Great Fit for Rookie RB Jadarian Price

It’s hard to find something not to like about Price’s situation with the Seahawks.

From a pure statistical standpoint, Price could have landed in a better spot. In Seattle,  he isn’t guaranteed to be the primary back.

But as pundits have mentioned, he’s used to sharing the backfield. That could make him a great candidate to produce immediately in either a RB1 or RB2 role with the Seahawks.

With the team’s passing attack, Price also won’t be central to any opposition’s defensive game plan either. Price’s college teammate, Jeremiyah Love, won’t be so lucky with the Arizona Cardinals.

While playing mostly a backup role at Notre Dame behind Love, Price posted 1,692 rushing yards in 41 games. He also averaged six yards per carry and scored 24 total touchdowns (21 rushing, three receiving).

Seahawks RB Depth Entering 2026 NFL Season

Price is likely to eventually share the backfield in Seattle with Zach Charbonnet. As Blair mentioned, though, Charbonnet is recovering from a serious knee injury this offseason.

That could mean more snaps, touches and carries for Price in September. It could also lead to Price splitting opportunities with Seahawks free agent signee Emanuel Wilson.

With the Green Bay Packers the past two seasons, Wilson rushed for roughly 500 yards each campaign.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald have expressed confidence in the team’s other running backs this offseason as well. Seattle also has George Holani, Kenny McIntosh and Jacardia Wright on its offseason roster.

Those six running backs will be responsible for replacing Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker. In 2026 NFL free agency, Walker signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
