The Detroit Lions have dropped the official status of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown after his injury on Thanksgiving.

Following their disappointing finish to the 2025 NFL Season in which they failed to claim a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2023, the Detroit Lions are hoping to turn the page on that chapter of their franchise and start anew with fresh hopes for what can be accomplished in 2026.

Not only were they extremely active during the 2026 NFL Draft last month by bringing several new faces into the fold, but their offseason has also seen some notable roster turnover in terms of both departures and arrivals into the Motor City. Needless to say, general manager Brad Holmes has been extremely busy of late.

We’re also now just days away from the official release of the Lions’ 2026 NFL schedule, and while the opponents are known, the times and dates have yet to be officially set. But the latest release from the Lions’ official X account, formerly known as Twitter, has the fans talking.

The Detroit Lions Posted A Cryptic Message On Social Media Earlier On Friday

Earlier on Friday, the Lions’ official X account, formerly known as Twitter, posted a cryptic message with the caption, “don’t say we didn’t tell you”, featuring Jameson Williams holding a blank whiteboard.

This led to a flurry of reactions to the post by fans.

“I know our release video will be awesome,” one reaction read.

This fan said, “If the whole release video involved Jamo, I might cry of happiness.”

This fan wanted to know, “Tickets affordable?”

Finally, this fan wanted to know, “When can I buy tickets to the Munich game?”

Brad Holmes Got Honest About The State Of The Franchise

Earlier this week, Lions GM Brad Holmes spoke on “Good Morning Football”, where he discussed the team’s offseason thus far and his impression on the overall state of the franchise.

“Yeah we feel, we knew we had a lot of work to do. You know, both from a roster standpoint, just as some internal things that you know. We were determined. That’s a bad taste in your mouth. When you feel like you’re trending in, you’re heading in the right direction, although we never got to where we really wanted to get to. But, we got close, but to not be in it, that was a bad taste,” said Holmes. “So, we’re like, okay look, let’s make sure that we’re not just being, you know, the definition of insanity, and keep doing the same thing over and over again.”

“So, we took a long, hard look at a lot of things,” he continued. “We made some tweaks and adjustments, but we really felt good about the things that we’re able to do from a roster standpoint through free agency and the draft. And look, no one has a crystal ball, but I will say that this is probably the deepest that we’ve been, probably on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

The Lions are the only NFL team that didn’t hold a rookie minicamp, but their mandatory minicamp is scheduled for mid-June.
