Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox argued the Green Bay Packers must still add either Von Miller or Joey Bosa to help Micah Parsons in 2026.

Fans of the Green Bay Packers have to be getting a little bit tired of the narrative at this point. But it’s not going away until the Packers find a solution for Micah Parsons with their pass rush.

On Saturday, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox argued that solution should come externally for Green Bay. On a list of one remaining move every NFL team needs to still make this offseason, Knox named adding an edge rusher for the Packers.

Knox stressed the edge rusher need for Green Bay as one of the biggest ones on his list.

“The Green Bay Packers have one dependable edge-rusher and plenty of questions opposite him. Unfortunately, star sack artist Micah Parsons is recovering from a torn ACL and might not even be available for Green Bay at the start of the regular season,” wrote Knox.

“After trading away Rashan Gary, the Packers lack depth behind Parsons. 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness hasn’t developed into a regularly productive contributor. Parsons and Gary combined for 20 of Green Bay’s 36 sacks in 2025.

“Adding a veteran like [Von] Miller or [Joey] Bosa is a must at this point.”

The Packers went 0-3 without Parsons during the 2025 regular season. They then lost in the first round of the playoffs, blowing an 18-point lead.

Could Packers Sign Von Miller or Joey Bosa?

Pundits have linked Green Bay to veteran edge rushers such as Von Miller and Joey Bosa throughout the offseason. The latter has been a particularly hot name around the Packers.

Rashan Gary is no longer on the Green Bay Packers. This absence propels 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness into their starting lineup alongside All-Pro Micah Parsons,” Infante wrote. “[Van Ness has] also only combined for 8.5 sacks in his three seasons with the Packers. They drafted Dani Dennis-Sutton in Round 4, but he’s a raw technician who should be strictly in backup territory as a rookie.”

The outside calls for Green Bay to address its edge rusher depth have only grown louder since ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Parsons could begin the 2026 season on the PUP list.

“I don’t know if there’s a more load-bearing player in the NFL right now than Micah Parsons,” ESPN’s Mina Kimes said. “This is a thin group.”

Bosa has earned five Pro Bowl nominations in his career. His most recent Pro Bowl season was 2024 with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Last season with the Buffalo Bills, Bosa posted five sacks with a league-leading five forced fumbles. He also had 29 combined tackles, including nine tackles for loss, 16 quarterback hits, and two pass defenses.

Miller registered nine sacks with six tackles for loss and 15 quarterback hits in 17 games for the Washington Commanders during 2025.

Micah Parsons to Begin 2026 on PUP List?

Schefter reported just before the NFL released its schedule on May 14 that Parsons could miss, at least, the first quarter of the season.

If placed on the PUP list, Parsons will not be permitted to practice until the conclusion of Week 4. That would automatically rule out the edge rusher for the first four games.

Should that happen, the Packers would play at least four contests without their best defensive player. Doing so would greatly test the Green Bay edge rushing depth.

If the Packers don’t add another edge rusher this summer, Lukas Van Ness would immediately fill Parson’s place. Van Ness had just 1.5 sacks in nine games during 2025.

He has 8.5 sacks in 43 career NFL games.

On paper, Green Bay’s edge rushing room looks even thinner from there. The group could force the Packers to count on fourth-round rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton for major contributions.

It would be much wiser for the Packers to add edge rusher insurance with a veteran still available in free agency.
