The Kansas City Chiefs traded their No. 9 selection to the Cleveland Browns, moving up to the sixth overall pick and taking LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane.
Kansas City traded the ninth pick, along with No. 74 and 148, to get to No. 6. Cornerback was one of their top roster needs after trading away Trent McDuffie and losing Jaylen Watson to free agency, both ending up with the Los Angeles Rams.

Delane has been widely regarded as the best cornerback in this year’s draft class. He excels in press-man coverage, which the Chiefs’ defense plays a lot of. He is smooth and fluid in coverage, and possesses 4.3 40-yard dash speed.
Mansoor was dominant in the ACC during his three-year tenure at Virginia Tech. He transferred to LSU for his senior season, and played just as well against top tier competition in the SEC. Throughout his four-year collegiate career, Mansoor recorded eight interceptions, 191 total tackles, 27 passes defensed, and four forced fumbles.
