After the draft and undrafted free agency, the Las Vegas Raiders had to make some roster moves to make room for the young players. One of the players the team cut ties with was offensive lineman Layden Robinson.

He first joined the Raiders last season and did enough to earn a Reserve/Futures contract once the year ended. However, they added a few rookie offensive linemen, which made Robinson expendable.

Fortunately for him, he was able to find another team quickly. The Atlanta Falcons are signing the veteran offensive lineman.

Robinson originally came into the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots, but didn’t make it to a second season despite starting 11 games as a rookie. He’s only 25, so there could still be some upside there.

The Falcons have a new coaching staff this year. There will be opportunities for players like Robinson to leave a strong impression. He was twice named Second-Team All-SEC at Texas A&M, so there’s talent there. He just has to put it together at the NFL level.

Trey Zuhn Could Be Impact Rookie

The Raiders didn’t end up using a ton of draft capital on offensive linemen as many expected, but they did come away with a very interesting prospect. The team used a third-round pick on former Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn, who happened to be Robinson’s teammate in college.

What’s interesting about Zuhn is that he can legitimately play all five spots on the offensive line. The Raiders likely want him at guard to start his NFL career. It’s an open competition at guard for the team, so he’ll be in the mix.

ESPN’s Field Yates named Zuhn as one of the rookies who could have an “instant” impact.

“Zuhn’s exact fit remains to be seen, but he’s one of the most versatile prospects in this class regardless of position,” Yates wrote. “He spent most of his time at Texas A&M at left tackle and then played more than 100 snaps at center late last season.

“Zuhn is an easy mover with really good length (6-foot-6, 319 pounds) and could play an interior spot in Klint Kubiak’s zone-heavy scheme. While big-ticket free agent Tyler Linderbaum has center locked, Zuhn should compete for guard snaps instantly.”

Raiders OL Could Be Greatly Improved

The Raiders may have had the worst offensive line in the NFL last season. They gave up more sacks than any other team, and they had the worst rushing offense in the NFL.

There weren’t a lot of great options in free agency, but the Raiders grabbed the best offensive lineman available when they landed Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum. Just his addition makes the group a lot better.

Plus, the Raiders should get much better coaching this year. Former offensive line coach Brennan Carroll was clearly in over his head last season. Rick Dennison was hired as the offensive line coach, and he has over two decades of coaching experience. He’s going to be a substantial upgrade over Carroll. The Raiders’ offensive line should be better in 2026.
