The Philadelphia Eagles have a great history of drafting Georgia players, and it appears as if 2026 6th-round pick Micah Morris might add his name to the list sooner than later.

Morris, a 6-foot-5, 334-pound guard, could represent incredible value with the No. 207 overall pick. Longtime starter Landon Dickerson has been battling injuries the last few seasons. Philadelphia’s other starting guard, Tyler Steen, is in the final season of his 4-year, $5.75 million rookie contract.

ESPN’s Field Yates singled out Morris as the best pick of the 6th round and 1 of the best “steals” of the NFL draft in 2026.

“The Eagles have a track record with offensive linemen that speaks for itself, which alone piqued my interest with this pick,” Yates wrote. “Morris drew divergent opinions from scouts during the predraft process, as some were not convinced that he could convert his unique traits into more consistent play. But at 6-foot-5, 334 pounds, he really did jump off the screen in college with effortless power when he engages on a defender. If the Eagles can get steadier play from one snap to the next, he can carve out a role as a reserve lineman.”

Micah Morris’ Inconsistency Cited Pre-Draft

Morris has the size, speed, and pedigree to have been a much higher pick — the reasons why he wasn’t are a mystery on their own.

NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein had Morris predicted as a 7th-round pick or priority free agent.

“Morris has a rare blend of intelligence, power and movement talent, but the profile is a little too uneven,” Zierlein wrote. “He plays with a sky-high pad level and outside hands. He’s very strong in his upper body and is relatively light on his feet as a move blocker. His broad frame can be tough to get around in protection, but his inconsistent base width could lead to leakage against athletic rushers. Playing at a lighter weight would make him quicker/more efficient and could be the key to making it in the league.”

Morris Battled Trio of 1st Round Picks in College

As a 17-year-old freshman at Georgia in 2021, Morris found himself on the scout team facing a trio of future 1st round picks for the Eagles with defensive tackles Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, along with edge rusher Nolan Smith.

“For starters, it was not fun at first,” Morris told NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro after he was drafted. “I’ll tell you that much. It was not fun at first. But it prepared me for this moment. It provided me with a chance to learn from the best and develop … obviously, I’m giving them a look being scout team but I’m also perfecting my craft working against top first-round draft picks, elite players, All-Pro players.”

The Eagles know they’re getting a winner in Morris, who was part of Georgia’s back-to-back College Football Playoff national championship teams in 2021 and 2022 — teams that trio of 1st round picks starred on.

Morris is also unique in the run of Georgia players headed to the Eagles — the 7th Bulldog picked by general manager Howie Roseman, but the 1st offensive player following Davis (2022), Nakobe Dean (2022), Smith (2023), and Smael Mondon (2025).
