John Harbaugh continues to speak with Odell Beckham regarding a possible reunion with the Giants.

As the offseason rolls along, many are still anxiously waiting to see what will happen between Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants. Amid recent developments, it looks as though a reunion very well could still be on the table.

Weeks removed from the draft, the Giants have moved on to rookie minicamp to continue gearing up for the 2026 season. Following practice on Saturday, head coach John Harbaugh conducted a media availability. When the topic of Beckham came up, he noted that the two have remained in contact regarding a possible signing.

“Talked to Odell a lot, probably three of four times in the last week, [see] where he’s at, where we’re at,” Harbaugh said Saturday after a Giants rookie minicamp practice. “He’s in Arizona right now training and spending time with his son. The goal for right now is for him to train and get as ready as he can be. And then we’ll see where we’re at at that time.”

Harbaugh and Beckham have previous ties, as the former Pro-Bowl WR played under him for one year with the Baltimore Ravens. Only time will tell if he’ll have the chance to do so again, only this time in the Big Apple.

Giants Coach Keeping an Open Mind When it Comes to Signing Odell Beckham

Although the two have history, Harbaugh isn’t letting it impact his decision-making. He is confident Beckham still has what it takes to play in the NFL at this stage in his career. However, he is still trying to figure out if the Giants are the best fit for him.

“We have just such an honest conversation about it. It’s got to be right for both parties,” Harbaugh said. “Odell wants to be the kind of player that can make a difference. I’m pretty sure that he can make a team in the National Football League right now. But can he make a difference and is it something he wants to do and is his body going to hold up the way he wants it to?”

When it comes to a final decision, Harbaugh and the Giants are in no rush. During his press conference Saturday, he stated that bringing in the veteran wideout is something they’ll revisit closer to training camp.

Beckham, 33, is eager to get himself back on a roster in 2026. He has spent the past year and change getting himself right physically, last appearing in nine games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024.

Odell Beckham Could be Wide Receiver Insurance in 2026

There are countless reasons why signing Beckham makes sense for the Giants, with insurance being at the top of the list. Given the current state of the team’s receiver corps, taking a flier on an older star could be worth it.

While he’s proven to be a high-end talent, Malik Nabers has struggled to stay on the field for the Giants in the early stages of his career. There is also Darius Slayton, who recently underwent surgery to address a core injury.

New York has worked tirelessly to surround QB Jaxson Dart with an array of weapons. In the event that some of their man receivers are still working themselves back to 100%, Beckham could emerge as a stopgap option for the Giants.
