Danny Go! Creator Daniel Coleman's Son Isaac, 14, Dies After Cancer Battle

Daniel Coleman is trying to find the words to express his grief.

The star of the children’s YouTube series Danny Go! shared that his 14-year-old son Isaac Coleman died May 21 following a battle with cancer.

"Oh my sweet boy. There’s so much I want to say, but I don’t know how yet," Daniel wrote on Instagram May 22. "I already miss you so much, and the pain in my heart is far more than I can process. But looking through thousands of pictures and videos this past week, I’m also filled with tremendous pride."

The YouTuber further detailed the many health battles Isaac faced during his lifetime.

"Your 14 years were full of so many challenges, but you met them all with such grit…and you somehow kept your trademark joy in spite of it all," Daniel continued. "You truly had a spark like no other, Isaac! Remembering how loved you were and how full of life your time here was gives me great comfort."

Launched on YouTube in 2019 by Daniel and his friends Michael Finster and Matthew Padgett, Danny Go! is a “live-action educational children’s show filled with music, movement and silliness,” the show’s website reads, that “inspires learning and off-the-couch exercise for kids ages 3 to 7.”

In addition to creating the show—which also runs on Netflix—the trio stars in the program, with Daniel playing the titular Danny. The show has even become a family affair with his wife Mindy Coleman playing Mindy Mango.

Daniel announced in December 2025 that Isaac had been diagnosed with cancer in his mouth.

"TBH, we always knew this day was coming, as it’s a near certainty w/ Fanconi anemia," the content creator shared on Instagram at the time. "But it’s definitely hitting a little earlier than we hoped and is still just such a shocking thing to hear about your child, even if you’ve braced for it for years.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, “Fanconi anemia is an inherited condition that happens when certain genes mutate,” and it “may cause physical differences and blood disorders that lead to bone marrow failure” as well as increased risk of cancerous tumors.

After Isaac was born in October 2011, Daniel documented his son's many hospitalizations and surgeries—including bone marrow and kidney transplants—on social media and used his platform to raise awareness for causes close to his heart, such as the National Marrow Donor Program.

Four years after Isaac was born, Daniel and Mindy welcomed their son Levi. And the kids formed a fast bond—with Daniel noting in a birthday tribute to Isaac that year, "Pretty sure your little brother already thinks you're the coolest, too."
