This year, Rihanna brought to life her interpretation of the “Costume Art” theme with a Maison Margiela gown featuring over 115,000 crystal beads and antique jewels. The jeweled gown featured a sculptured structure, which had been made by hand, that wrapped around her head and body like a cape. According to Vogue, the ensemble took over 1,380 hours to make.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s partner A$AP Rocky—with whom she shares son RZA, 3, son Riot, 2, and daughter Rocki, 7 months—also arrived in style to the Met Gala, of which he was co-chair last year. 

For the annual fundraiser this year, the rapper donned custom Chanel by Matthieu Blazy in the form of a bubblegum pink wool robe with black satin lapels. He wore black trousers and dress shoes underneath, and carried a small, apple-shaped bag in his hands.
