White jeans are shaping up to be one of spring and summer 2026’s easiest style refreshes—and according to stylist Liz Teich, the appeal comes down to how effortlessly they brighten any outfit.
We spoke to Teich, who broke down exactly why white denim continues to feel relevant year after year. “White jeans can be a fresh way to step out of our comfort zone of jeans and a top,” she explained, adding that they instantly make looks feel more seasonal.
But she also warned that not all pairs are created equal. One of the biggest mistakes she sees is choosing overly stretchy denim. “White jeans are best when they have less stretch,” she told E!, noting that styles with a higher cotton content—around 80–90%—tend to hold their shape better and feel more flattering.
For 2026, Teich says it’s all about silhouette. She talks about how ’90s-inspired straight-leg and slightly wide-leg cuts feel the most modern, while barrel jeans still work when worn in longer, uncropped lengths. Skinny and cropped styles, however, are starting to feel dated.
And if you’re still following the old “no white after Labor Day” rule? Teich says it’s officially outdated. She told E! that white jeans can be worn year-round when styled with seasonal pieces, making them one of the most versatile staples in a modern wardrobe.

"You can't go wrong with a linen button-up, a tank top, or a tee as it warms up," says Teich.
"For cooler days, wear a cashmere tee topped with a light spring jacket, such as a blazer, suede jacket, barn jacket, or cropped trench. This is a great way to add a layer that you won't mind removing when temps warm up through the day," she told E!.
"I love wide-leg white jeans for warmer weather because they won't cling to your body if you do get warm. They also work with every warm weather shoe —as long as you keep them as long as possible without touching the ground," Teich told E!.
"I'm into the trend of drapy and aetherial tops like this, which will make white jeans look so elevated," Teich said.
"Adding a belt or a long necklace is trending and will add dimension to an all-white or tonal look," said Teich.
"Barrel jeans are still going strong, so if you do love that style, opt for a longer, uncropped length to keep it fresh, and possibly more timeless," she told E!.
"I personally love styling a monochromatic or black and white look with white jeans for any season. Fabrics are seasonal, not colors, (think linen for summer and wool for winter, or sandals vs boots), so really these easy formulas can work all year round with the right styling pieces," Teich told E!.
Mid to low rise is trending, but for someone like me who has a long torso and tends to look best in high rise, I'll continue to wear high rise. However, I'm finding I either go very low or very high, skipping mid-rise. Do what's best for you and your body, not just trends," says Teich.
Simple and versatile, these straight-leg jeans come in low-stretch denim you’ll rely on season after season.
Loose and roomy, these wide-leg jeans bring a carefree feel with subtle stretch and a clean white wash.
Great-fitting jeans for curvy bodies are no longer hard to find, thanks to brands like Old Navy offering thoughtful sizing and tailored fits. Lean into an all-white outfit and break it up with a contrasting belt and your choice of footwear.
Low-rise jeans are making a return, and this white pair nails the look with a relaxed, slouchy non-stretch fit.
