Man Carrying Weapon Arrested Near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Home
Police are looking into the death of Isak Andic.
While the founder of Mango’s fatal fall from a cliff near Barcelona in December 2024 was originally ruled an accident, police in Catalonia later shared the 71-year-old’s death was being investigated as a potential homicide.
Now, over a year later, Isak’s eldest son Jonathan Andic was arrested on May 19 over an alleged role in his father’s demise. The 45-year-old was photographed entering a courthouse in Martorell, Spain, in handcuffs after being questioned at a police station, per Reuters.
A spokesperson for the family confirmed to the outlet that Jonathan was being questioned, emphasizing the family remains confident in his innocence. They added of Jonathan, “The cooperation has been and will remain total.”
Meanwhile, a police spokesperson confirmed to Reuters the probe remains under seal.
Isak—who was born in Turkey before moving to Spain when he was young—died following a 500-foot fall down a cliff in December 2024 while hiking with family. Jonathan was reportedly the only eyewitness to the fall.
A judge formally closed the case in January 2025 after ruling there was no evidence of criminal conduct, according to Forbes, though police subsequently reopened the case later that year amid inconsistencies in Jonathan’s account of the events. The outlet also notes Jonathan has denied any wrongdoing

Isak opened Mango’s first store in Barcelona in 1984, and in the decades since grew the brand into a household name and into Zara’s biggest competitor in Spain.
At the time of the founder’s death, Isak was serving as Mango’s non-executive chairman and Forbes estimated his fortune to be around $4.5 billion.
Following his dad’s death, Jonathan and his sisters Judith Andic and Sarah Andic inherited 95 percent ownership stake in Mango, while CEO and President Toni Ruiz owns 5 percent. Toni also became chairman of the board in January 2025 after Isak’s death, while Jonathan was named vice chairman, per Reuters. Jonathan first started working with Mango in 2005, per Forbes, and took responsibility for the Mango Man division two years later.

E! News has reached out to Mango for comment and has attempted to reach any legal representation for Jonathan.
Currently, Mango boasts over 2,900 stories worldwide. The fashion group’s revenue also earned a record-high in 2025, reaching almost $3.8 billion—an 11 percent increase from the previous year, per CBS News.
