Ciara & Russell Wilson Say Their Kids Will Have "Some Opinions" on Their Met Gala Fashion

Ciara and Russell Wilson kept their Met Gala 2026 outfits locked up like an ancient Egyptian secret.

After all, the “Body Party” singer and NFL star admitted that they didn’t share any sneak peeks of their gilded Egyptian Pharaoh-inspired outfits to their kids.

“They haven’t seen this actually,” Ciara admitted to Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Met Gala 2026 May 4. “So, I can’t wait for our kids’ feedback.”

Indeed, Ciara—who is mom to Future Zahir, 11, with ex Future, as well as Sienna, 9, Win, 5, and Amora, 2, with Russell—teased that the couples’ kids would have plenty to say about her gold Celia Kritharioti gown, joking, “They’re going to have some opinions, I’m sure.”

Meanwhile, Russell, who sported a custom white suit with gold detailing by Brandon Blackwood, assured some takes were already formulating, adding, “They’re watching everything live.”

But no matter what their kids’ said about their “Costume Art”-themed looks, Ciara—who topped off her look with a headdress reminiscent of Queen Nefertiti—emphasized, “I feel royal.”

Russell and Ciara weren’t the only celebrities to pull inspiration for their looks from ancient art. The Studio star Chase Sui Wonders explained how her lilac McQueen gown was inspired by a trip she took to Pompei.

I loved these wall reliefs,” Chase told Live from E!. “There were all these ancient Roman wall paintings from like, 200 B.C. and I loved how they were just so raw and natural and yet so beautiful and all these natural pigments.”

And the 29-year-old liked the “preserved” look of the ancient art so much, she tied it into her Met Gala debut, adding, “So, this a nod to ancient Rome.”

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway’s Michael Kors gown also nodded to a bygone era. The Devil Wears Prada star’s black dress was complete with hand-painted designs by Peter McGough that nodded to Greek vase art

“This dress, to me, is about the goddess of a Grecian urn, and what I love about the dress is that it turns the person into an object of art,” Peter told Vogue of the dress. “It’s moving art. Fashion and art, they go together for me: Fashion is wearable art.”
