What Is SWAN Beauty? Breaking Down the AI Mirror Behind A...

What Is SWAN Beauty? The Viral AI Mirror Behind This Influencer's Bachelorette PartyCourtesy of SWAN Beauty

Have you been seeing this AI mirror everywhere right now? You're not seeing double (or triple), the SWAN Beauty Smart Mirror went viral for being the exclusive sponsor for Brigette Pheloung's bachelorette trip. We break down everything you need to know about this mirror, what makes it so special, how it works, and other (more affordable) smart skincare devices to shop right now.

Unless you're closely following beauty industry news, this might be your first time seeing this AI-powered mirror. Launching in January 2026, it became a hidden gem among beauty editors. There aren't many beauty tools that use AI on the market right now—in fact, this might be the only one under $1,000.

There are plenty of reasons to feel conflicted about AI tools (whether it's how it steals art to create its content or how damaging it is for the environment), but there's no denying it's probably here to stay. The SWAN Mirror doesn't use generative AI, though. It uses a recognition algorithm from a dermatologist-created database. I predict we'll see more of this "AI" in beauty tools than the dreaded generative AI.

What is SWAN Beauty?

SWAN Beauty is the brand behind the smart mirror that uses a dermatologist-developed AI Skin Analyzer, face mapping, and augmented reality try-on features.

Launched earlier this year, the brand was co-founded by Colby Mitchell, whose mission is to pioneer the "next evolution of the at-home beauty experience."

Retailing at $795, the SWAN Beauty Smart Mirror promises to track skin concerns over time, build a consistent routine for you, show you tutorials from celebrity makeup artists, give you tailored product recommendations (and the ability to buy them directly from your mirror). It's similar to a smart workout mirror, but for beauty!

How Does The SWAN Beauty Smart Mirror Work?

The SWAN Beauty Smart Mirror uses a 15.6" Full HD Samsung OLED touchscreen, built-in 4K camera with autofocus, a 79-degree field of view, dual microphones, dual speakers, adjustable LED lights, built-in skin analysis, and AR guidance. For the full experience, the brand recommends connecting to the app and getting a SWAN membership (which retails for $9.95 a month or $94 annually).

With the membership, you'll get access to SWAN Labs' intelligence, which includes unlimited scans, deeper analysis, and more advanced AR guidance. You'll get step-by-step guidance on exclusive looks created by professionals that overlay directly onto your reflection. Plus, the brand promises that new content and updates will continuously be added.

According to NSS G-Club, Mitchell developed the AI with dermatologists who analyzed “thousands of faces,” under seven skincare parameters (wrinkles, pigmentation, texture, oiliness, redness, acne, UV spots). The mirror uses a recognition algorithm to compare your face with this database.

Shop More Smart Mirrors & AI Beauty Tools:

Don't have $795 to spend on a mirror (even if it's smart)? No problem! Shop more smart beauty devices and mirrors that use AI and app connectivity to track your skin's progress and build custom routines.

HiMirror Himirror Slide

Looking for an affordable smart mirror that analyzes your skin? The HiMirror is pretty much your only option! It features the brand's signature skin analysis technology to store photos of your face to track changes over time and see what parts of your routine are working (and which aren't). Plus, with Bluetooth, you can watch your favorite beauty tutorials right in the mirror!

TheraFace PRO

The TheraFace Pro is your all-in-one skincare tool that promises to leave your skin looking glowy and healthy with LED light therapy, microcurrent, facial massage, and cleansing. Plus, it connects to the brand's app to give you aesthetician-designed routines.

NuFACE TRINITY+ Microcurrent Facial Toning Device Starter Kit

NuFACE has plenty of smart skincare devices, but the TRINITY+ has everything you could ever need! This device uses microcurrent to sculpt, contour, lift, define, and smooth your face and neck. It also connects to the brand's app to follow guided routines.

PURODE Microcurrent Facial Device

This microcurrent device uses cleansing, moisturizing, LED, EMS, lifting, soothing, and cooling for your face. Plus, it uses its camera and smart AI chip to analyze your skin's hydration, pores, and texture to track your progress and suggest the best routine for you.

FOREO UFO 2

You might be familiar with FOREO if you've been obsessed with beauty devices for years now. The UFO 2 uses heating, cooling, and red-light LED therapy, combining it with your favorite face mask to hyper-infuse those ingredients to leave your skin ultra-glowy and hydrated. Plus, it connects to your app for personalized suggestions.

SKIN INC Tri-Light + Sabi AI

This device combines sonic, pulsed electromagnetic field, and hydro-sensor technologies with five targeted LED lights. It also connects to the brand's AI-powered app to scan your face and customize your perfect skincare routine.
