Nicole Kidman’s Daughter Sunday Rose, 17, Breaks Met Gala Rule With 2026 Debut

Nicole Kidman and daughter Sunday Rose's 2026 Met Gala looks were to die for, by utmost intention.

"For me, fashion is art," Nicole, a co-chair of the May 4 event alongside Anna Wintour, Beyoncé and Venus Williams—told Vogue on the steps outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. "I wanted something red because I wanted to embrace the way red has been used in art through the years." Hence the Practical Magic star slaying in a red sequined Chanel gown trimmed with feathers.

"And I feel it's a strong symbol for love," she continued. "For passionate love, vitality, for power—and motherhood."

With that, she looked at her 17-year-old date for the evening, Sunday Rose getting a pass on fashion's biggest night despite the Met Gala's usual 18-and-over age restriction.

Gesturing to the teen, whose floral-themed pink gown sported similar feathery flourishes as her mom's dress, Nicole added, "And I have a springtime blossoming girl here."

Sunday concurred with a nod.

"Keeping it real," Nicole quipped.

Mother and daughter both kept their hair long and parted in the middle, with Nicole's longtime stylist Jason Bolden doing the honors on putting her look together.

Meanwhile, this may be her and Keith Urban's eldest daughter's Met Gala debut, but Nicole has been attending the event since 2003 and this is her third time co-chairing.

Last year, she wore a bold black Balenciaga gown, complete with gloves and blue crystal jewelry, a perfect homage to the “Tailored for You” dress code as part of the "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style"-theme bash.
