Kelly Clarkson Rejoining The Voice for Season 30
Kelly Clarkson fans love seeing a moment like this.
The Kelly Clarkson Show host was brought to tears during her recent interview with Rita Wilson after the actress took a moment to lament the end of Clarkson's eponymous daytime talk show, which concludes later this year.
"I just want to say one thing before we go," Wilson said during the May 27 episode. "I want to thank you for the years that you've been doing your show. I want to thank you for literally changing the game when it came to daytime television."
Since making her daytime debut in 2019, the American Idol season one winner has repeatedly gone viral with her "Kellyoke" song covers, which have been a highlight for Wilson as a loyal viewer.
"The fact that you love music, that you have brought so much music to daytime," Tom Hanks' longtime spouse—who has been releasing her own music since 2012—continued, "that you have shared with us your voice, your gifts and everyone else's and your incredible band."
The 69-year-old concluded her profuse praise by telling Clarkson directly just how much her show "has made a big change in my life," with the sweet compliments causing tears to well up in the 44-year-old's eyes.
As an emotional Clarkson cracked to the audience, "I'm not crying," before adding more seriously, "That's so nice."
The two then shared a hug with Clarkson gushing, "I love you," as Wilson reiterated, "It's the truth, though."
And even though the "Miss Independent" singer is clearly emotional thinking about her daytime tenure coming to an end, she's confident in her decision to break away from TV after seven seasons following the unexpected death of her ex and father of her kids Brandon Blackstock.
"I think everybody gets the timing," Kelly—who shares kids River, 11, and Remington, 9, with ex Brandon—said during a Feb. 20 interview on Today. "Our family life, the dynamic changed a bit, and it has changed for a minute now. I think it’s one of those things like, you kind of start seeing life as how precious it is, too."

However, Clarkson reassured fans she's not disappearing from the spotlight, especially with the news that she's returning as a coach for The Voice season 30.
"I know everybody thinks, 'Oh she’s like quit,'" she said. "I’m really busy. I still have other jobs, I’m still doing stuff. There’s just too much on the plate, so I was like you know what? It’s time to pull back."
