Percy Jackson Star Walker Scobell Slams Fans Sending Death Threats to Potential Prom Dates

Walker Scobell will not be giving anyone a corsage.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians star called out supposed fans for death threats sent to teens they believed he might be bringing to prom. In fact, he also went out of his way to clarify his RSVP to the event.

“Just to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom,” Walker wrote in an April 12 Instagram Story. “Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me based on their proximity to where I live.”

Walker did not address specific claims, but he emphasized that it was “not fair” to the women in his life, or their families, to be on the receiving end of such behavior.

“Maybe also just stop sending death threats in general,” Walker continued. “That’s not cool. Kinda weird that I have to say this.”

Since taking on the titular role in the Disney+ series back in 2023, the 17-year-old has acknowledged that his life changed overnight in a way he didn’t fully expect.

“I knew it was Percy Jackson and if there were a lot of people that loved it just as much as I did then I thought, ‘Yeah, maybe it would get pretty big,’” Walker explained during an interview with USA Today last year. “But I didn’t think it would be this big so fast. It kind of just immediately became such a big thing and it started affecting my life right away.”

When recounting several fan encounters when he was recognized instantaneously, he admitted, “I don’t know how to react to something like that—whether it’s awesome or whether I should be scared.”

Walker was just 13 when he was cast alongside Aryan Simhardri and Leah Jeffries in the TV adaptation of the beloved Rick Riordan book series, which concluded filming its third season in March.

And while The Adam Project alum has been up front about the negative sides of portraying such an iconic character, he’s also emphasized it’s a dream come true.

“I love it every day,” he said in an interview with Behind the Blinds in December. “We get to do all these amazing things, so I just have no respect for people who complain all day. Even if you're not having a good time, joke about it.”

Percy Jackson’s third season release date has not yet been set, but keep reading for more TV premieres to add to your calendar...
