Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden Welcome Baby No. 3: His Meaningful Name Revealed

Boys might laugh at girls when they're not funny, but Benji Madden has never had to fake it with Cameron Diaz.

"I'm a total goofball," Cameron told Cosmopolitan about her approach to dating in 2000, "and I think guys see how much of an idiot I can make of myself so they aren't worried about embarrassing themselves."

Naturally, there was something about the Charlie's Angels star besides her presumably adorable idiocy that attracted the Good Charlotte rocker when he was invited to a dinner party Cameron hosted in 2014 with Benji's sister-in-law Nicole Richie and her husband, Joel Madden.

And the feeling was mutual, because the couple hightailed it to the altar less than a year after that fateful gathering, tying the knot at home on Jan. 5, 2015. They now share daughter Raddix, 6, son Cardinal, 2, and their newest arrival.

"Cameron and I are Happy, Excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third Child, Nautas Madden," Benji captioned a May 4 Instagram post. "Welcome to the world Son!! We love life with our family- our kids are healthy & happy, and we are grateful!!

"It's a whole foundation," Benji shared on a March 2025 episode of Literally! With Rob Lowe. "Like Cameron, when we met, it was like the world just went like this."

Benji indicated that his world turned right-side-up.

"That's the queen," the 47-year-old added. "Go against my wife? Good luck. I don't even need to get involved."

The sentiment echoed his 10th anniversary post from January 2025, a rare personal Instagram missive in which Benji described their marriage as "never perfect- always real- always reliable" and called Cameron "Wife, Mommy, friend, partner, Boss, and lover." 

But even though they were meant to be, Cameron has acknowledged that they continue to work on themselves and their relationship in therapy.

When they clash, the point is to figure out, “'Why didn’t it work? How can I make it work? What’s my part? What’s the other person’s work?'” she said, explaining what she and Benji get up to in their sessions to brother-in-law Joel on a December 2024 episode of his Artist Friendly podcast. "Let’s be self-aware and go into the next attempt a little bit more equipped to hopefully come out with a different outcome."

So that even on lesser days, she noted, when neither of them is at "100 percent," there's still a "100 percent commitment to the marriage and to the partnership and getting things in the family."

"I'm grateful for all of it—whether it was something quick and passing or something that lingered too long," Cameron told InStyle about two months before she and Benji were first photographed hand-in-hand, confirming romance rumors without saying a word. "There is not one thing I've been through that hasn't been a lesson that led me to this moment, and I can't believe how great life keeps getting."

Her endorsement of separate bedrooms for sleeping (in addition to the one they share for their "relations") aside, you can more often find her waxing rhapsodic about domestic life.

"I love being married," Cameron gushed on the YouTube series Makeup & Friends in 2020. "The best thing that's ever happened to me is finding my husband, and our partnership, and our friendship." Moreover, she added, "I love being a mother. It's the best, best, best part of my life. I'm so grateful and so happy and it's the best thing ever and I'm so lucky to do it with Benj and we're having the best time. I'm thrilled. I can't believe it."
