Hugh Jackman & Sutton Foster Bring Broadway Energy to Met Gala Debut
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster's Met Gala date night is music to our ears.
Broadway's hottest couple ditched the Great White Way for 5th Ave. on May 4 while attending the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 2026 fundraiser—a.k.a. fashion's biggest night. (See every star as they arrive to the Met Gala 2026 here.)
Jackman looked dapper per usual in a classic black and white tuxedo and bowtie by Armani. The Oscar winner jazzed up his traditional suit with a bedazzled diamond pin on his lapel in addition to a white handkerchief in his coat pocket.
Meanwhile, Foster opted for a glittering, one-shoulder gown for the dress code of "Fashion Is Art." The Younger alum completed her glitzy ensemble with a matching gold purse and gold shoes and her brunette hair flowing down her shoulders.
Jackman, 57, and Foster, 51, were all smiles as they posed for pics and held hands while ascending the Met Museum's famed staircase.
Prior to making their grand entrance arm-in-arm, the Wolverine actor gave a shout-out to the fashion house behind his look, writing on X May 4, "Off to the #MetGala2026 @sfosternyc thank you @armani @brionyraymondnewyork #thomasdunkin," along with a sweet BTS snapshot of him and the Thoroughly Modern Millie actress.
The couple, who met costarring in Broadway’s The Music Man in 2022, first confirmed their romance in January 2025.

And since taking their love public, the multi-talented pair have been no strangers to the red carpet.
In October 2025, the Broadway stars made their red carpet debut at the screening of Song Sung Blue during AFI FEST in Hollywood. Days prior, they stepped out hand-in-hand for date night at the Fetch Pet Gala in New York Oct. 20.

The duo's romance came amid changes in both of their personal lives as Foster and ex Ted Griffin—who share daughter Emily, 9—ended their decade-long marriage in October 2024.
As for Jackman, he and ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness—who share kids Oscar, 26, and Ava, 21—announced they had split after 27 years of marriage in September 2023, before finalizing the end of their union in June 2024.
