Venus Williams just aced the 2026 Met Gala.
As a co-chair for the May 4 benefit—alongside Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Anna Wintour—the tennis pro made sure to make a statement at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for the “Costume Art”-themed gala.
"I'm wearing my earrings that say six percent," Venus exclusively told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Met Gala 2026, "and representing Gatorade and this project where we're talking about how women only get six percent of the research in sports science."
The 45-year-old added, “Can you imagine? So tonight’s a special night for that.”
And of course, Venus was serving up glam with her full look for the night’s “Fashion Is Art” dress code, wearing a sparkling black mermaid gown custom made by Swarovski, accented with a structured, diamond-encrusted neck piece that covered her chest with elaborate artwork and chains of diamonds across her arms. (See all the celebrities at the Met Gala here.)
Husband Andrea Preti—with whom she tied the knot in December—also looked dapper, wearing a classic black suit and bowtie.
While this year marks Venus’ first as a cochair of the Met Gala, she’s no stranger to the Costume Institute’s annual benefit, having made her debut in 2008 and attended four more times since then. (Her sister Serena Williams was also a co-chair of the 2019 event.)

And it’s no wonder, because in addition to tennis, the Wimbledon winner counts fashion as one of her major passions.
“I love fashion, I really do,” she shared with Marie Claire UK in 2025. “I used to always say I’m a recovering shopaholic, but I think I’ve finally recovered. It took forever. I love watching the runway and the shows.”
But Venus—who studied fashion design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale—knows it’s not just about what you put on your body, but also how you nourish it. So, she has made it her mission to prioritize her mental and physical health, which helps keep her “grounded.”

“Wellness has always been a top priority,” she explained. “Real strength starts with listening to my body and giving it what it needs. I learned early on that mental health is just as important as physical fitness. A consistent routine helps me stay focused, present and balanced every day.”
Venus added, “Design and wellness—this is kind of where I belong.”
