See Michael Jackson's Son Bigi "Blanket" Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Family
Colman Domingo's evening with Katherine Jackson was a total thriller.
After all, as the actor celebrated the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic—in which he plays the late patriarch Joe Jackson—at the April 20 Los Angeles premiere of Michael with the "Beat It" singer's mom.
"To receive her love and support is all I needed," Colman wrote over a photo with him and Katherine in a post on his Instagram Stories April 21. "We laughed and looked eye to eye and had such a lovely moment that night."
Katherine, 95, wasn't the only Jackson to make an appearance at the Dolby Theatre. In fact, Michael's siblings La Toya Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, Marlon Jackson and Jackie Jackson, as well as his son Prince Jackson and nephews Jaafar Jackson—who is portraying the King of Pop in the film—Taj Jackson and TJ Jackson were also in attendance.
Colman was sure to express gratitude, concluding his post, "Thank you to the family that showed up and loved on us and our work. We made her happy."
Among the most prominent family members absent, however, was Paris Jackson, who had previously criticized the movie. In response, the Euphoria actor told WSJ. Magazine in a March interview, "I hope that she eventually loves the tribute that we made about her father."
As for what the only daughter of Michael had said about Michael?
"I just butted out and left it alone because it's not my project," Paris said on her Instagram Stories in September. "They're going to make whatever they're going to make. A big reason why I haven't said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it."

She asserted that despite her reservations about the movie, which delves into her late dad's time with The Jackson 5 and early solo career, "a big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they're gonna be happy with it."
The 28-year-old said that since she believes biopics are not often authentic to the subject, she wasn't thrilled about Michael's life being made into a movie.
"The thing about these biopics is—it's Hollywood," she wrote. "It's not real but it's sold to you as real and a lot of sugar-coated… the narrative is being controlled."
"At the end of the day, that doesn't really fly with me," she continued. "Y'all are gonna like the f--king movie. So just go watch it. Go enjoy it. Do whatever. Leave me out of it."
