Stephen Colbert's New Job Revealed 2 Months Before Late Show Exit
Danny Pintauro is the boss of his career.
And while it may seem unconventional to some, the 50-year-old—who starred as a child in the sitcom Who’s The Boss? throughout the ‘80s and early ‘90s—wants to normalize the transition from Hollywood to the regular workforce. After he went viral for posting a photo of himself delivering packages for Amazon in April, Pintauro has been vocal about how many working actors have to find other jobs to sustain themselves.
“It's one of the five different gig jobs that I'm doing right now,” Pintauro explained on the June 22 episode of Pod Meets World. “We’re gig actors. Acting is the gig. It's one of the six gigs.”
Emphasizing that actors have to make a living just like the average person, he revealed that he juggles multiple jobs in part because he doesn’t make money from residual checks.
“We have to do what we have to do to survive,” he continued. “We have got to keep moving as humans. And I know you can all relate to what that looks like. We're all doing it. I am not different from you in that sense.”
But while the public was initially confused by his job at Amazon, Pintauro noted the “flack just disappeared” once he broke down the financial insecurity that entertainers often face.
Still, the Who’s the Boss? alum admitted that people haven’t always been so compassionate in the past. In fact, he recalled that fans had made fun of him for taking on a summer job at The Gap “just for fun” toward the end of his run on the sitcom.

“For a long time, it was they love to see the downfall,” he said. “There is something about that. Just humans love to see other people being miserable… and especially someone that they have placed on such a pedestal to see that person come down a bunch of levels.”
As for the other ways Pintauro keeps the lights on, he detailed his other side hustles in addition to delivering packages.
“I've got Amazon and then I'm an acting coach,” he shared. “So that developed because I've been teaching acting for the last almost 10 years. In Austin, I was teaching eight classes at this conservatory.”

What she knows, though, is that helping others is quite fulfilling.
"It’s actually been a really rewarding and fun job," Kate continued. "To come in and relieve a family of their medically challenged child so that they can spend time with their other kids and do other things."

For Drew Barrymore, a day of work has never been missed. Though her current gig helming The Drew Barrymore Show fills her days now, when the child star found herself emancipated from mom Jaid Barrymore at age 14, she scrambled to pay the bills.
Noting her friend worked at a coffee shop in the Valley, the actress shared in her 2015 memoir Wildflower that she had to find something closer to their rental because she didn't have a driver's license.
"It was the start of the 1990s, and coffeehouses were where everyone hung out," she detailed of working at L.A. hot spot the Living Room. "People poured out on to the street every night." Unfortunately, she continued, "I wasn’t great at my job. I wasn't really great at anything. I had only done two things: acted and had wild life experiences."
She served up the tea on one tense experience in her book.
"I could tell my boss, who had hired me on the novel idea of having a washed-up former child actor behind the counter, was patient with all my learning curves, but was also irritated with me," she wrote, revealing how he walked in while she was doing the dishes "and said, very sharply and exasperatedly, 'Don't use the abrasive side of the brush! All the pastry cases are getting scratched and foggy, and you can't see what’s inside!'"

Lifeguard on duty!
When Stranger Things' Noah Schnapp isn't battling supernatural beings in the Upside Down, he spends his time saving others in another way. In a 2022 interview with Flaunt magazine, the actor revealed he had a part time job as a lifeguard at his local pool during the summer.
"It's kind of a 'just for fun thing,'" he explained. "I've kind of grown up with a normal life and normal friends and stuff outside of Stranger Things, so it's kind of kept me grounded."
