Janel Parrish Shares Steamy Look into Sasha Farber Romance Weeks After Announcing Chris Long Split
Sharna Burgess used to tango with Sasha Farber.
Years before they set foot on the Dancing with the Stars floor, the pair had a brief romance, with Sharna detailing how their friendship during the touring production of Burn The Floor beginning in 2006 led to a showmance.
“I talk about how I've dated so many a--holes,” the 40-year-old told her fellow pro Peta Murgatroyd on the May 11 Penthouse With Peta podcast. “He was not one of them.”
While Sharna has been with fiancé Brian Austin Green—with whom she shares 3-year-old son Zane—for over five years, she fondly looks back at her time with Sasha, emphasizing how the 42-year-old had been a “sweet boyfriend” earlier in her career.
“He was always a great guy,” she continued. “And he came into my life at a time when I just really needed to remember how to laugh again. And then there was so much going on in my world in my early 20s.”
As for how they got together, Sharna recalls summoning the courage to approach Sasha one tipsy night during a Burn the Floor tour stop in Reno, Nev.
“Sasha's room and I—we were next door to each other,” she explained, “and at one night my bold little self just went over and like knocked on his door and was like, ‘Hi.’"
Although she couldn’t remember the exact length of their relationship, Sharna said she stayed with Sasha for most of her six-year run on Burn the Floor. After her father began experiencing health problems, she left the show to return home to be with him—leading to a breakup with her ex.
“When I was home, it was just too hard,” she concluded. “Like, I never knew when I was going to be back on tour again. Sash was with the tour and it was like, “When are our wires in our lives’ paths ever going to cross again?’ And so, we broke up over that video call, Skype.”
While their relationship may not have had the ideal ending, the two—who later reunited as pros on DWTS—have found love in other partners. While she has been with Brian since meeting as partners on the ABC dance show, Sasha was married to their DWTS castmate Emma Slater from 2018 to 2024 and he recently hard launched a romance with Janel Parrish.
And Sharna has long made peace with the split, looking back fondly at their brief connection in 2020.
“Dad loved Sash,” she said in a YouTube video with her late father Raymond Eric Burgess at the time, before adding, “We were never ever meant to be together.”
