Anne Hathaway Reacts to ‘Devil Wears Prada 3’ Pitch After Sequel's Success

Anne Hathaway has some groundbreaking news.

The Devil Wears Prada star revealed that she is pregnant with her and husband Adam Shulman's third baby.

Hathaway, 43, shared a sweet video of herself in a flowing white dress that perfectly showed off her growing baby bump in a June 19 Instagram post. She cradled her belly before flashing a giddy smile in the video, set to the Barbara Lewis song "Baby, I'm Yours."

She likewise captioned the reveal, "x Baby, I’m yours x."

And Hathaway and Shulman—a producer and jewelry designer—have plenty of experience navigating the wonderful ups and downs of parenthood as they've raised sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.

"We’re all just in it," she told Elle last month. "Adam and I are soaking it up. I’m having the most wonderful time with my family, living in the city of my dreams, and work seems to be going really, really well."

These days, her boys are "in this really fun zone where we all love hanging out together." However, the Oscar winner quipped that that might not be the case as they grow up: “Well, we will always love hanging out with them, but their feelings about us might change."

But being a boymom has presented some unique challenges as well.

"I have to always be able to go from a serious business meeting to, like, a basketball court. You have to be able to play pickup basketball at any point, in any outfit," she shared with People in April. "So [I tell myself]: When you get dressed in the morning, dress wisely because you 100 percent are going to have a projectile thrown at you probably by the end of breakfast."

Fortunately, Hathaway has the best co-captain in Shulman, who she first met at the Palm Springs Film Festival in 2008. As she told Harper's Bazaar U.K. in 2013, “I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life."

Still, when they became parents, the Princess Diaries alum admitted there was "obviously a learning curve" to having kids.

"You just have to be kind to yourself with that because you do feel like you're doing everything wrong, especially in the early days," she told Stellar in 2020. "But it's more than just a challenge."

Indeed, raising Jonathan and Jack at home during the pandemic taught her "the way we live and love is what we'll be remembered by."

"All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love."

On Learning Parenting Advice from Prince William & Kate Middleton

On Sharing Her First Pregnancy on Her Own Terms

"I hadn't planned on ever confirming it and then I just, I had seen a photographer while I was on vacation, taking a photo, and I just thought, 'It's such a joyful and a sacred experience, you know, carrying life,'" Hathaway explained to E! News. "And I just thought, 'I don't want the first version of this to be out there with me covering or scowling at someone.'"

On Being Sleep Deprived

She told E! News that getting sleep has been challenging. "Honestly, I haven't slept in eight weeks. I have no idea what I'm saying," the actress jokingly stated. "This is probably going to go down as not the most normal interview on E! News."

On Saying Bye, Bye to Booze

"I'm going to stop drinking while my son is in my house just because I don't totally love the way I do it," Hathaway admitted to Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show. "He's getting to an age where he really does need me all the time in the mornings. I did one school run one day where I dropped him off at school, I wasn't driving, but I was hungover, and that was enough for me. I didn't love that one."

On Getting the Role of a Lifetime

On Advocating for Maternity Leave

"I can't believe we don't already have it," she shared with Elle magazine, further explaining that "We're encouraged to judge each other, but we should be turning our focus to the people and institutions who should be supporting us and currently aren't."

On Trying to Stay Cool

"I'm not perfect, but if I'm frustrated or distracted, I'm good at making sure he's safe and walking away, calming down and then coming back to him," she explained to The Sunday Times. She said "telling that harsh voice to be quiet" is one hard about motherhood. "I fall short every day, but I'm not going to beat myself up about it, I'm going to learn from it."

On Getting a New Schedule

"I'm sorry. I am a new mother and I didn't time the feeding schedule—well, like I have any control over it," Hathaway said on Good Morning America with a laugh as she does press for the Alice Through the Looking Glass. "My kid was hungry, I had to feed him, I missed the first 20 minutes so I can't tell you about the beginning of the movie."

''Mommy Guilt'' Is a Myth

"When [my son] Johnny was a week old and I was holding him and I was in the ninth level of ecstasy, I just all of a sudden thought, 'Mommy guilt is invented nonsense,'" she told Elle magazine.
