Demi Lovato's Husband Jutes Shares How They Stay Connected During Time Apart on Tour (Exclusive)
If you aren’t into proclamations of love, well, sorry not sorry because Demi Lovato is telling the world how she really feels about husband Jordan "Jutes" Lutes.
Proving they’re cool for way more than just the summer, the "Confident" singer has expressed how the two "fall in love more and more every day."
"I really thought on my wedding day that was maxed out, like the most amount of love that you’ll ever feel for a person," Demi—who celebrates her first wedding anniversary with Jutes May 25—told E! News' Erin Lim Rhodes in April, "and then time goes by and you just form this connection that is so intimate and so fulfilling that you just fall completely more and more in love."
And while the musicians will be spending their anniversary apart, don’t have a heart attack. It’s simply because they're both on tour.
"The fact that it’s our wedding anniversary and we’re going to be apart really sucks, but we’re just gonna pretend," Jutes noted to E! News that same month. "As soon as tour's over, we’ll be together and we’ll celebrate."
After all, their musical journeys play big parts in their love story. Years before Jutes and Demi were husband and wife, they were collaborators who met in the studio in early 2022 while writing songs for her album Holy Fvck.
"I felt like we connected really quickly," the 35-year-old shared on The Zach Sang Show in 2024. "It was like really good friends really fast. I wasn’t considering anything romantic."
But Demi was interested in being more than just friends.
"I had just come out of treatment, and I was newly sober and raw with my emotions. I had nothing to medicate with," she told Who What Wear in November. "He was there for me as a friend, helping me get through this deep depression I was in."

After a few months, their dynamic shifted from platonic to romantic. And on Jutes' birthday that March, he and Demi became boyfriend and girlfriend.
"We had talked about going camping," the 33-year-old shared on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2024. "I had set up a camping scene in my backyard, and later that night we ended up becoming official."
Continuing to build their relationship up like a skyscraper, the couple got engaged in December 2023—with Jutes penning the song "Carry Me" for the proposal.
"He made a song that was about our journey together," Demi told SiriusXM’s Hits 1 in September. "It had all these little Easter eggs in it, and it was so special and beautiful."

Also beautiful was their wedding in Santa Barbara, Calif., in May 2025.
"I just felt loved," the bride told Vogue at the time. "All that life has brought me to this moment, and it was more than worth it. It was so special being able to marry my best friend, my soulmate, and the love of my life."
And while Demi has had high-profile relationships in the past—with Wilmer Valderrama, Joe Jonas and former fiancé Max Ehrich among her exes—she was finally able to give her heart a break and find the one in Jutes.
"It’s hard to put into words what Jordan means to me," she continued. "To find a love like this has completed my life in so many ways. We both put the work into ourselves first to be ready and open to share a life together, and I think that is a really important part of our relationship. We don’t complete each other as we did the work to complete ourselves first—and I think that’s a really important thing to do."
And they can't wait to see what the future holds.
"I'm looking forward to falling more in love," Jutes shared in his conversation with E! News, "and hanging out with my best friend all the time."
