Why Rod Stewart’s Wife Penny Lancaster Gave Stepdaughter Kimberly Stewart Her Breast Milk
A lot of women have thought Sir Rod Stewart sexy over the years, and the 81-year-old has the complicated romantic history to show for it.
Calling himself "a tireless seeker of new experiences" in his 2012 memoir, Rod: The Autobiography, he wrote, “I seemed to be hell-bent on going down in history as the Last of the Great Philanderers.”
But his lust for life also produced eight children, now ranging in age from 15 to 62. And if every picture tells a story, then his family album is an epic.
"What makes me happiest now," Rod told People in 2021, "is seeing all my kids and my wife with big smiles on their faces."
Though his third wife Penny Lancaster—with whom he shares sons Alastair, 20, and Aiden, 15—admittedly "tiptoed very lightly" into the already sprawling Stewart family.
"Because there were lots of personalities," the model explained to the BBC in December, "and more importantly, there were children ranging from all ages...and they were children from different mothers.”
Four other mothers, to be exact, two of them Rod's ex-wives Alana Stewart and Rachel Hunter.
So, Penny said, "it took a long time" to ingratiate herself with Rod's other kids, including Kimberly Stewart, 46, and Sean Stewart, 45, from his marriage to Alana.

As for the keys to Rod and Penny's successful union, the English artist mused to the BBC that perhaps he brought a maturity to their relationship that his wife learned from, while "there is an honesty she has taught me."
“We do not argue before we go to bed and...if we do have arguments," he said, "it is over real quick.”
Rod added, "I try to teach my kids, all of them, that real men say sorry, that's what they do. There is a wonderful honesty between us, and long may it last."

Knighted by Prince William in 2016, the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is the singer of classics such as "Maggie May," "Tonight's the Night" and "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" with his band The Faces, as well as solo 1980s-era hits like "Forever Young" and Downtown Train."
While nominated for 15 Grammys, his first and only win to date came in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category for 2005's Stardust ... The Great American Songbook Volume III.
The father of eight and grandfather of four is still touring, holding court at a Las Vegas residency. He was honored May 19 during the live TV special Forever Young: A Grammy Salute to Rod Stewart Live.
Sarah Streeter
Rod became a dad at 18 when he welcomed daughter Sarah with girlfriend Susannah Boffey in 1964.
But Sarah was adopted and raised by Gerald and Evelyn Thubron—and it wasn't until she was 18 that she found out Rod was her biological father.
They saw each other a few times in the 1980s but then reconnected in 2007 after her parents died.
Their relationship subsequently "evolved a lot," Sarah told The Mirror in 2018. "It's taken it's time because he's not just my dad, is he? He's a big star...But over the years it has become much more relaxed and now he's just Dad to me."
Kimberly Stewart
Rod and model Alana Hamilton—mom to son Ashley Hamilton with ex-husband George Hamilton—welcomed daughter Kimberly Alan Stewart on Aug. 20, 1979, four months after their wedding.
"The doctor gave her to me," the singer wrote in his 2012 memoir Rod: The Autobiography, "and I was absolutely in love with her from the second I laid eyes on her."

Sean Stewart
The Princes of Malibu alum was born Sept. 1, 1980, his mother fittingly going into labor at the family's Malibu beach house.
After he launched athleisure label Dirty Weekend in 2022, Rod told him "that he is very proud of me for going my own way and forging my path," Sean told Hollywood Life. "It makes him so happy to see me being creative."
Sean married fellow Hollywood royalty Jody Weintraub (daughter of late producer Jerry Weintraub) in February 2023 but they have since separated. He went Instagram-official with SkinSane founder Julia Stambler in 2024.
Ruby Stewart
Rod welcomed daughter Ruby with partner Kelly Emberg on June 17, 1987.
Though he wrote in his memoir that he was surprised Kelly didn't dump him right after Ruby was born due to his infidelity, they enjoyed "many happy and contented times."
Ruby, a model and musician, welcomed son Otis Stewart Kalick on May 9, 2023, with fiancé Jake Kalick, and they shared in May 2026 that they're expecting their second child.
Renée Stewart
Rod married Rachel Hunter on Dec. 15, 1990, three months after he met the 21-year-old model at a Los Angeles nightclub.
Their daughter Renée Cecili Stewart was born June 1, 1992.
Now, Renée leads a relatively private life as a yoga and meditation instructor.
"When I was at school in L.A., if people asked me what my dad did, I'd say, 'Oh, he's in entertainment,'" she told The Times in 2019. "No disrespect to him, but you want to make your own life."
Liam Stewart
Rachel and Rod welcomed son Liam McAlister Stewart on Sept. 5, 1994.
Growing up in L.A., Liam rose up through the ranks in junior hockey and played professionally for the Milton Keynes Lightning in the U.K.'s National League.
"I was known as 'Stewie' around the rink," Liam told Fox Sports in 2015, "like I was just another guy. It was awesome."
Off the ice, Liam shares son Louie Mark Roderick Stewart and daughter Elsie Skylar Stewart with wife Nicole Artukovich.
Alastair Stewart
Rod met model Penny Lancaster in 1999 and they welcomed son Alastair Wallace Stewart in 2005 before tying the knot June 16, 2007, in Portofino.
Alastair is the latest model in the family, posing for a Palm Angels billboard campaign in 2022, and he's frequently spotted catching Celtic FC matches with his father.
Aiden Stewart
Penny and Rod welcomed Aiden Patrick Stewart on Feb. 16, 2011, the artist's eighth child.
And while they talked about having more kids in recent years, Penny told Saga in September 2025, "We thought there might be too much of an age gap."
