The world has discovered the wonders of the hidden valley.
While Americans have started to take for granted the flavor possibilities that lay at their fingertips, the 2026 FIFA World Cup has turned into an unexpected reminder of the glory that lays within the aisles of U.S. supermarkets.
We’re talking about ranch dressing.
Indeed, the usually-buttermilk-based condiment and its flavor packet equivalents—featuring that specifically unique and entirely American blend of garlic, onion powder, dill, parsley and chives—have become something of a phenomenon for the international tourists who journeyed to the U.S. from countries in which no such flavor exists.
“Why did no one tell me ranch sauce is like crack?” one user wrote on X. “EUROPE WE NEED RANCH ASAP.”
In fact, ranch has become so popular since the World Cup began on June 11 that the Transportation Security Administration (a.k.a. TSA) has issued a how-to guide on getting the newly beloved condiment back to visitors’ home countries.
“If you're visiting for a very large sporting event & you happen to discover RANCH while you're here,” TSA tweeted June 17, also sharing the note to Instagram. “Pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home.”
And while some recent ranch-discoverers may feel so inclined to do away with the bottle they forgot they stashed in their carry-on the way of water discovered in the security line, TSA also wants travelers to know there’s another solution.

“Ok please avoid chugging your ranch outside security,” the organization added. “The airlines will check it for you.”
But that’s not the only fun the account had with the new viral fad.
“Days since the last airport ranch incident: 0,” they wrote in one tweet, joking in another, “Yeah soooo your carry-on wasn’t actually made for *checks notes* 4 bottles of ranch & a taser.”
And brands were quick to lean into the fun.
“Good thing my ranch packets are tsa approved,” California-made chain Jack in the Box commented under the TSA post, while Cheesecake Factory—known for its American-sized portions—added, “You can order a whole vat of ranch to go over here… just saying.”
Meanwhile, Hidden Valley itself added, “I approve this message.”

But perhaps no brand decided to capitalize on the craze more so than Kraft, which teased that “TSA Compliant Ranch” would be coming soon.
“Some visitors leave with souvenirs,” Kraft wrote on Instagram June 19 alongside an image of a suitcase filled with ranch packets. “Others leave with America’s favorite dressing.”
But until the airport-friendly ranch is released, tourists are reveling in their newfound gustatory experience.
“USA. There is a white sauce here that the people pour upon everything, with the devotion of a sacred rite,” one user wrote on X. “I have become a believer. I asked its name. They told me with a small reverence: ranch.”
The user—who had the Japanese flag alongside his handle—wrote of ranch with the same reverence with which Homer wrote Odysseus’ homecoming, describing it as a “holy elixir” he’d been adding to all his stateside meals.
“I would not be the one barbarian who left his plate unblessed while a whole nation dipped in joy around me,” he wrote. “I have not yet found the dish it cannot improve. I have stopped looking.”
