Between the continent-wide World Cup matches and a recent Knicks championship in New York, Americans are all in on jerseys this summer—including a former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.
The former FLOTUS embraced the jersey trend this week in Chicago, where she recently celebrated the launch of the Barack Obama Presidential Center. Obama dropped by a jam session with singer Tems, the Girls Opportunity Alliance, and After School Matters in the Obama Center’s media suite, dressed in a sporty, yet polished look.

It’s a riff on the closing look from Jerry Lorenzo’s spring 2026 collection, but Obama-fied with a nod to the 44th President of the United States. Like the runway look, she finished off the outfit with a pair of crisp white trousers and heeled sandals.
Obama is just the latest stylish celebrity to embrace the sporty look. Earlier this week, Zendaya—in the midst of her globe-trotting Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tour—donned a football jersey-inspired Coach long-sleeve (complete with subtle shoulder pads), which she styled with a bookish plaid H-line skirt.
