When it comes to the 2026 Met Gala, host committee member Teyana Taylor is having a fantastic time. When we spoke earlier in the day, the singer, songwriter, and actress was getting a massage and mulling over her evening plans.

Step one: Get into glam. Taylor was recently announced as the newest Revlon Girl, which she describes simply as “a dream come true.” Taylor loves beauty, always has. Tonight, she wanted something soft and lusturous when it came to makeup—specifically, Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick, painted on by makeup artist Yeika Oliva. On the eyes, Oliva describes the look as a “smoky eye to complement the dress.” Taylor shares that her appointment as a Revlon Girl is simply special. “My first memory of Revlon is from when I was a little girl,” Taylor says. “We all used to see the ads, but I never thought it would be me.”

Step two. “Get my wig on,” Taylor says. “I am wearing my hair in a little slick back; it looks wet. I want to keep the focus on the outfit and the mug.”

Step three: Put on her custom Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann gown. “The outfit is always very, very important to me, especially tonight.” She describes it as both revealing everything and nothing at the same time. “It looks like it’s melting as I move. I like to think of it as the ‘ghost of a body,’ it appears and disappears, appears and disappears as I’m moving.”

Step four: Stun on the Met Gala’s garden-inspired carpet and have a great time, of course. Mission accomplished.
