It’s an inevitable downside of New York City living that come summer, the heat and humidity can teeter into the unbearable. Muggy subway platforms and sun-baked sidewalks are excuse enough to pack up our weekenders and book it for the Hamptons. This stretch of eastern Long Island has long been a respite for New Yorkers seeking a seaside reprieve from the oppressive heat. It is the true epitome of East Coast summer vacation culture, and with the best Airbnbs in the Hamptons growing in number each year, the destination is all too ready to welcome visitors in 2026.

Vogue’s Favorite Hamptons Airbnbs:

  • For a Luxurious Estate: Southampton, $1,163 per night
  • For a Village Gem: Sag Harbor, $1,308 per night
  • For a Cottage With Coastal Views: Amagansett, $1,191 per night
  • For a Surfers’ Retreat: East Hampton, $484 per night
  • For a Modern Beach Bungalow: Montauk, $1,693 per night
  • For a Dog-Friendly Beach House: Water Mill, $1,253 per night

The geography of the Hamptons encompasses various hamlets and villages, each with their own distinct charm and reputation. It spans from Southampton to Long Island’s outermost tip, Montauk, which is nicknamed the ‘end of the world’. The beach is an obvious draw in these parts, but there are plenty of spas, galleries, restaurants, and landmarks to keep you occupied when you’re not lounging on the sand.

And what better way to complement a getaway to the beach than a stylish rental where you can truly make yourself feel at home? The best Airbnbs in the Hamptons accomplish just that. Ahead, our guide to the properties you and your friends should secure for the sunny months ahead.

Built in the mid-1800s, this historic home is oozing with charm. The three-bedroom is surrounded by scenic bulrushes, plus there’s a large swimming pool with sun loungers and an outdoor shower to set the scene for serene summer living. This house has quite the storied past: Its former owners were the Washington Post’s Ben Bradlee and Sally Quinn (who later went on to buy perhaps the most infamous house in the Hamptons—Grey Gardens). Simply put, it’s a classic. The traditional farmhouse touches indoors and massive swimming pool don’t hurt its charm, either.

You can paddle directly from your backyard to the creek when staying at this light-filled home, which is tucked away in a private beach community. Enjoy freshly harvested vegetables from the garden, and take time to explore the house, which was designed by architect Charles Moore (most recently renovated in 2024) and features organic materials throughout.

This darling 1950s fishing cottage is just a couple minute’s stroll from Hither Hills beach in Montauk. The property makes good use of the outdoor space, featuring beautiful landscaping and amenities like an al fresco dining area and fire pits with Adirondack chairs. When you’re not pedaling around on the complimentary beach cruisers, take your sketchpad (or a really good book) to the attached artist’s studio for some solo creativity time.

Rooms: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom

Amenities: Outdoor shower, washer/dryer, AC, beach access, backyard, fire pit, hammock, outdoor dining area, BBQ, bikes, sun loungers.

How much do we love the design of Robert McKinley’s Montauk bungalows? Enough that we’ve written about them on this site multiple times! Luckily, they have one listed on Airbnb. It’s minutes from the beach, but with such artfully adorned interiors, you’ll never want to leave the property.

Rooms: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

The host of this Amagansett home is an architect, and it shows: the place is dotted with sleek, sculptural Scandinavian furniture. (We particularly like the suspended fireplace.) The true selling point, though? Its expansive view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Rooms: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

Amenities: Ocean view, washer/dryer, AC, indoor fireplace, kitchen, beach access, backyard, bbq grill, beach gear.

Once upon a time, Montauk was a laid-back fishing village with none of the pretense (and partying) of the other Hamptons hamlets. That’s changed over the last decade or so, but this 1940s property in Hither Hills is an authentic, and aesthetically pleasing, reminder of its older days.

Rooms: 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

Amenities: Ocean view, washer/dryer, AC, indoor fireplace, kitchen, fenced backyard, bbq grill.

Location: Montauk

Highlight: Enjoy a languid afternoon in the outdoor bathtub situated beneath a canopy of trees.

An open floor plan and exposed solid wood beams set a lovely tone for this beautiful home, as does the vintage wood-burning stove and Dutch-style farm doors. It can accommodate up to eight adults and offers a large stone patio and heated pool.

Rooms: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

Amenities: Washer/dryer, Central AC, indoor fireplace, kitchen, fenced backyard, fire pit, BBQ grill, private sauna, pool.

A surfer’s paradise, this bohemian cabin sits on a half acre of land and just a five-minute drive from the beach.
