Pre-Met Gala, Kim Kardashian Brings the Body to Broadway

It’s the Met Gala 2026 today, but the weekend just past was already abuzz with starry parties—Kim Kardashian opted for a night enjoying Broadway’s best, and stepping into her first producer role.

Met Gala attendees spent the last few days settling into their suites at The Mark hotel, dropping by the Vogue Cafe for a coffee and pastry, cameoing on SNL, and rubbing shoulders with the Madame Tussauds’ waxworks. Kardashian, instead, attended a performance of The Fear of 13 on Broadway, joined by her mother Kris Jenner, sister Kylie Jenner, and her partner Timotheé Chalamet. (Kendall is also in the city, but spent the previous evening at Jeff and Lauren Sanchez Bezos’ pre-Met Gala party.)

While one might opt for something more louche and relaxed to sit for a few hours in a theater seat, Kardashian stayed true to her body-contouring, high-drama personal style. She wore a Christian Dior spring 1997 silk cheongsam in a pale yellow jacquard with blue and green embroidery across the bust and a high collar. She accessorized with a teeny-tiny and ultra-rare silver Hermès Sac Bijou Birkin and wore barely-there butter yellow stilettos which laced up jer legs.

Glam was also her signature full beat, with a bronzed complexion, neon pink manicure, and her hair done in a sleek architectural bun with one singular front piece.

Kardashian joined the producing team of The Fear of 13 last month, as part of “her continued effort to bring attention to criminal justice reform,” as was cited in a press release sharing her involvement. Last night, she spoke during the curtain call.

Her look was in total contrast to Kylie and Timmy, who sported their own versions of weekend casual—Timmy in a track jacket, Kylie in a trench and capris. Of course, for Kim Kardashian, this is a Met Gala warm-up, and the “Fashion Is Art” theme is basically made for her and her penchant for body-skimming silhouettes. Will Kim continue her run of archival, or choose to go custom as she did in previous years? We’ll just have to wait and see what turns up on the steps of the Met later today.
