Unstructured liner, French girl red lips, a super-high ponytail, a diffused cat-eye: Lily-Rose Depp has experimented with plenty of beauty and fashion trends over the years. “My generation is the YouTube tutorial generation,” she once told Vogue of her beauty education. “I definitely grew up watching YouTube tutorials.” Now, age 27, she’s firmly established her signatures.
Take that blurred lip—the actor and model is the poster girl of makeup artist Nina Park’s soft-focus and buffed look. It’s a pout anyone could pick out of a line-up. She also loves a sultry, smoky eye—both on camera in The Idol or on the red carpet promotion circuit for Nosferatu. The crease tends to be emphasized with a russet brown or charcoal, and eyeliner flits between precise prongs and more smudged, lived-in flicks. Brows are long-tailed, brushed up, and bushy. Her skin base is always luminous, with a soft bloom of coral or posy pink blush and cool-toned contour. As a Chanel ambassador, too, she’s had a lot of fun dipping in and out of trends. (Denim being one of them.) But if there’s one way to describe Lily-Rose Depp’s best beauty looks, it’s elevated effortlessness.
Like any chic French girl, Depp keeps it all skin-centric. She never sleeps wearing makeup, and makes sure her skin is kept clean and moisturized with a simple routine: “I think it’s about listening to your skin and changing it up and, you know, making sure that you’re doing what works for you.”
“Makeup has always been the most fun part of dressing up for me,” Depp has said. From the Met Gala to the Chanel front row, Lily-Rose makes that known. On the occasion of the 27th birthday of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp’s daughter, zoom in on 27 of her most major beauty looks.
