From Teen Pop Star to Full-On Movie Star: Ariana Grande’s Best Outfits Over the Years
Happy birthday, Ariana Grande! Today the star turns 33—and she certainly has a lot to celebrate this year. For starters, her highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine summer tour has kicked off; she’ll release her eighth studio album, Petal, later this summer; and in late November, she’ll co-star with Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro in the comedy Focker-in-Law.
She’s come a long way since bursting onto the scene with the hit Nickelodeon series Victorious—and enjoyed quite the dramatic style evolution along the way, transforming from a TV star and teen pop star into a full-on, Oscar-nominated movie star.
In the 2010s, her signature look was well-documented: Her outfits often included ultra-mini hemlines, extra-high ponytails, and always thigh-high boots. More recently, Grande has graduated into a more sophisticated, Old Hollywood red carpet vibe. Once she was cast as Glinda in Wicked, her whirlwind press tour saw the star wear an endless array of princess-worthy gowns (almost all of them in pink, of course). When the superstar was nominated for an Oscar last year, she turned up to the ceremony in a voluminous champagne-colored Schiaparelli gown (and performed in a ruby-red dress from the label). It was a fresh and current take on the dazzling style sensibility that she has nailed for years.
This summer, however, Grande is back to full-on pop-star mode. She launched her Eternal Sunshine tour with a variety of custom looks from Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy by Sarah Burton, and McQueen. Plus: The iconic ponytail is back, too!
Here, in honor of her special day, we’re taking a look back at some of Grande’s best fashion moments over the years.
