Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appeared yesterday in Brooklyn, New York for a friend’s wedding wearing respective head-to-toe gold and all-black—blink and you might have missed her Elizabeth Taylor tribute, and a dazzling jewelry debut. Cry her eyes violet, she may have done at her friend’s wedding—dripping in the Hollywood screen icon’s jewels.
The couple were photographed heading to Honey’s in Bushwick, Brooklyn last night. Swift wore a gold Maria Lucia Hohan Allar silk dress in shimmering gold fabric, with a cut-out waist, paired with a matching gold Aquazzura Ari clutch and Aquazzura Tequila sandals. (A regular shoe in her current rotation.) Alongside her Kindred Lubeck old mine cut engagement ring from the Kansas City Chiefs athlete, Swift donned an impressive suite of jewels.

The pop star wore a full Darlene De Sedle 22K gold and opal diamond suite that was notably once owned by her idol and last album muse Elizabeth Taylor. It’s the first time she’s worn the entire set in public, which was auctioned publicly in 2011 and has not been seen in its full glory since. Swift modeled the matching chandelier-style earrings, ring, and bracelet—unmistakable, thanks to their pastel opal sheen and sculptural shapes.
It’s believed that Elizabeth Taylor, the classic Hollywood cinema star and muse to Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, purchased the jewelry set in 1999. It stayed in her expansive collection until its sale at New York auction house Christie’s in 2011. The lot fetched around $6,000, and was part of a staggering, record-breaking $156.7 million day, exceeding all of its original estimates. Today, it remains one of the largest celebrity estate sales ever recorded. Later, the opal and gold suite was sold once again on 1stDibs for $125,000.

Swift’s 2025 music video for “Elizabeth Taylor” saw her wearing several other pieces from the screen legend’s collection, including a 33-carat Krupp diamond (famously purchased in 1968 by actor Richard Burton as a gift for his wife), a 19th century diamond tiara that Taylor wore to the 1957 Oscars, and a famed suite of Cartier rubies. Swift also isn’t the only one to call upon Taylor’s huge diamond, ruby, and gold archive—Margot Robbie wore Taylor’s iconic heart-shaped Taj Mahal diamond set in a Cartier necklace while promoting Wuthering Heights, and Kim Kardashian walked the Balenciaga fall 2025 couture show in Paris wearing diamond pendant earrings once worn by Taylor, on loan from jeweler-to-the-stars Lorraine Schwartz.

And Swift has given us a glimpse at some of the pieces solo, before. Out for dinner in New York last month, she paired her springtime blue striped Staud dress and bright yellow Lady Dior bag with the Darlene De Sedle ring and bracelet.
Another accessory? Travis Kelce, who for his part, was wearing a sleek black Fear of God blazer and dark sunglasses. The couple have been spotted out and about in both New York and London, wearing coordinated tailored fits and seasonal florals. It’s heavily rumored that the couple—who announced their engagement in August last year—are to be married imminently. What will Taylor Swift choose for her bridal jewels?
