Love is a many-splendored thing, especially when you’re gawking at it from the outside. In this column, we examine the celebrity couples who give us hope for our own romantic futures as we try to learn what we can from their well-documented bonds.

If I could be anywhere on this globe right now, it would probably be New York City, to celebrate the Knicks’ big win—but failing that, I’d transport myself to the Amalfi Coast to third-wheel Dua Lipa and Callum Turner’s fabulous-looking honeymoon. (But, like…not in a weird way. I’d leave them alone! I’d just also rent an inner tube and sunbathe in the water and maybe finally finish my audiobook of Strangers by Belle Burden!)

It is a truth universally acknowledged that when a celebrity weds her intended in a wildly elegant, Bianca Jagger-inspired Schiaparelli skirt suit at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall, she must then go a little bit wild with the PDA on her honeymoon. Well, that’s exactly what Lipa seems to be doing as she and Turner kiss all over Italy, with a source telling People: “They spend their days enjoying the water, talking, laughing and soaking up the sunshine. They look incredibly happy, keep holding hands and are very cute.” Quite!

Please don’t mistake my clocking of their PDA for any kind of chastisement; I love a sexy little honeymoon, or, in fact, a horny aquatic moment of any kind. (Remember Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp’s 2019 yacht makeout? I truly believe that Chalamet was meant for Kylie Jenner and Depp was meant for 070 Shake, but I still view that thirsty bit of pop-culture ephemera through rose-colored glasses.) Even if you’re a gorgeous famous person—or maybe especially then—weddings are stressful, and Lipa and Turner had two of them, one in London and one in Sicily. Don’t they deserve to unwind in each other’s amorous company? Butt grab and all, I’m here for it.

Charli xcx and George Daniel, Troye Sivan, Joe Alwyn, Mark Ronson, and Grace Gummer were among the celebrity guests who graced Lipa and Turner’s second nuptials in Palermo earlier this month, and honestly, I think Charli herself would (and probably does!) approve of the now-wedded pair’s passion for one another. I mean, this is the romantic poet who gave us the immortal lyrics: “I wanna dance to me / I wanna dance to A. G. / I wanna dance with George / I wanna dance to SOPHIE.” Should I try to become a pop star so that I, too, can know this specific joy?

To paraphrase Hugh Grant in Love, Actually, whenever I get a bit gloomy about the state of the world, I remind myself that Lipa and Turner’s meet-cute involved realizing they were reading exactly the same book (Trust by Hernán Díaz, if you’re curious). I would expect nothing less from a book club doyenne and her man; now I just want to know what they’re each reading in between stolen kisses on their honeymoon!
