Father knows best—just ask Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård.
Today in Cannes, Reinsve—who recently graced the Croisette for the premiere of her new film from director Cristian Mungiu, Fjord—traded in her sleek asymmetrical Louis Vuitton column gown for something a little more masculine. On Instagram, the actor posted a photo of herself wearing a gray double-breasted Ami Paris suit with a striped raw silk shirt and matching tie, a little reminiscent of Julia Roberts.

But Reinsve didn’t wear just any suit: she borrowed it from Skarsgård. This time last year, the pair hit the festival for Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value, in which they played a father and daughter, Gustav and Nora Borg. This time around, Skarsgård returned as one of the festival’s jury members, while Reinsve is competing for the top prize with Fjord. Interestingly, swapping suits is becoming something of an unexpected film festival tradition after the much-talked-about Julia Roberts-Amanda Seyfried Versace switcheroo from last year.
Although their onscreen characters may have had a complex relationship, Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård are clearly as close as ever—so close that they can share clothes. (An added bit of provenance: Skarsgård wore the gray suit to the premiere of Reinsve’s film, Fjord.) As she put it on Instagram, “Still smells like daddy.”
