It’s a beauty look that’s worthy of a spot in Sandro Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus” and on the 2026 Met Gala red carpet: Extra-long hair.
It started with co-chair Nicole Kidman (and her daughter, Sunday Rose) who walked the carpet early in the evening with practically-matching inches of hair. The mother-daughter duo shared hairstylist Adir Abergel for the day, along with some beauty inspiration, too.
From there, the list of long-haired muses grew, well, longer. Charli xcx wore her signature dark hair in a romantic, wavy half-up, half-down style (another popular choice for the evening) courtesy of hairstylist Matt Benns.
Amanda Seyfried and Zoë Kravitz were fans of the half-up, half-down style, too. Hairstylist Renato Campora created Seyfried’s sleek do, while we suspect hairstylist Nikki Nelms was responsible for Kravitz’s braided rendition.
Katy Perry and Lisa accessorized their long tresses with a metallic mask and a sculptural veil, respectively, highlighting that hair accessories were also the finishing touch for many tonight.
Whether it was extensions or au naturel, there’s no shortage of hair inspiration to enjoy. For more extra-long hair moments from the Met, see below.
