If we hadn’t had Joan Rivers with us until 2014, it’s entirely possible that we never would have met Deborah Vance. Hacks’s resident comedic diva was heavily inspired by Rivers, and although Rivers was legendary for her wit (perhaps my favorite joke of hers: “A man can sleep around, no questions asked, but if a woman makes 19 or 20 mistakes she’s a tramp”), she doesn’t always get enough credit for her truly inspired—if occasionally somewhat deranged—sense of fashion.
Rivers ran afoul of much of the Hollywood glitterati while she hosted E!’s Fashion Police from 2010 to 2014, but she tempered her hilariously harsh criticism of celebrity style with a pretty iconic wardrobe of her own. In honor of what would have been Rivers’s 93rd birthday, we’ve rounded up some of the comedian’s all-time greatest looks below:
