Euphoria is back on our screens, and popstar Zara Larsson is on a colorful concert tour across America—so it was only a matter of time before sparkles would make their way to the runways of Parisian fashion houses. And last night, at their 2027 resort collection show, Dior followed bedazzled suit.
“We wanted the glam to have a bit of star factor to it,” Peter Philips, creative and image director of Christian Dior makeup, tells me over Zoom. “Jonathan and I thought, ‘Why don’t we do a bit of glitz?’”
Each of the 75 models started with that beautiful skin base (a combination of the Dior Forever Glow Foundation, Forever Skin Correct, and Backstage Rosy Glow Stick in shades Berry, Pink Lilac, and Rosewood). From there, a wash of color on the eyes—either shade Poncho or Nude Dress from the 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette—was applied.

The finishing touches were wholly individual. Some were left with just the subtle makeup touches, while others were adorned with Philip Treacy’s iconic word hats—“Dior,” “Flow,” and “Star” floating above their heads—and a select dozen or so had their eyes carefully lined with Swarovski crystals.
The crystal shade—which Philips describes as a “soft, champagne-peachy pink”—is reminiscent of LA sunsets, Academy Awards, and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer lion. “We’re just following the roots of the lashes and gluing each one with eyelash glue. Then extend it out one crystal or two, just a small wing.” Though he notes, it’s still subtle. “Too much and the look becomes Showgirls,” he adds, referencing the iconic beauty look worn by Elizabeth Berkley.
Crystals, of course, are perfectly on par with Los Angeles, too. “Yesterday, I took a moment to visit a crystal shop in the Fashion District,” Philips says. “I felt totally high on all the sparkles. There is something so magical about them, whether it’s crystals from the Earth or for fashion.”
