The 2026 Cannes Film Festival has come and gone, leaving behind a frenzy of glamorous looks on our feeds—often before the stars could even make their way to La Croisette.
Red carpet veterans were the undoubted stars of the show, from honorary Palme d’Or recipient John Travolta’s berets (yes, multiple!) and Colman Domingo’s playful marine earpiece to Isabelle Huppert’s gown-matching red lip.
Also among the festivities’ fashion front-runners was jury member and actor Ruth Negga. Working with stylist Karla Welch, she wore looks from Saint Laurent, Prada, Loewe, and more, with equally impressive beauty looks to match. For the screening of La Vie D’une Femme, for example, hairstylist Marcia Hamilton created an updo with chunky micro bangs while makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis kept the glam soft and toasty.
Updos and other small hairstyling details continued to trend across the carpet, as did fun pops of color in makeup, like Zara Larsson’s sparkly yellow-and-orange eyeshadow look and Alia Bhatt’s peachy monochromatic glam. If Cannes was any indication of the summer beauty trends to come, there’s sure to be plenty of whimsy in our futures.
Here, we break down all the best beauty details worth one of the festival’s famous standing ovations.
