Tom Holland has finally confirmed that he and Zendaya are married.

Ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland told Esquire UK that his grandmother was fooled by AI-generated wedding photos circulating online and mistakenly believed she had not been invited to the ceremony. When asked whether he had to send similar explanations to other family members, Holland replied—after “a long pause (six seconds, to be exact),” per interviewer Henry Wong—“No, because they were all there,” effectively confirming that the wedding had already taken place.

However, when pressed about when the nuptuals occurred, he declined to elaborate, saying only, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”

Zendaya and Holland began dating some time after co-starring in 2011’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Speculation about an engagement first emerged in January of last year when Zendaya attended the 2025 Golden Globe Awards wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger. Rumors intensified in March when her longtime stylist, Law Roach, stated at the Actors Awards, “The wedding already happened. You missed it,” fueling reports that the couple had secretly married.

The newlyweds recently kicked off the press tour for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled for release in the United States on July 31. On June 15, when they attended a photo call for the film in Madrid, Zendaya wore a black fringe dress by Christian Cowan, but notably did not appear to be wearing the Jessica McCormack engagement ring reportedly given to her by Holland. Instead, she was seen in only a simple gold band on her left ring finger.

Zendaya has also addressed the AI-generated wedding photos herself. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, host Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the fake images circulating online. Zendaya responded, “Many people have been fooled by them… While I was just out and about in real life, people were like, ‘Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous,’ and I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real.’”

She added that some people were so convinced by the fabricated images that they were upset they had not received an invitation to the wedding. Well mazel to the ones who did end up at easily the most closely guarded celebrity wedding of the decade—and, of course, to the adorable couple!
