Staud Resort 2027 Collection

There’s never been more uncertainty in the retail sector, which may be a reason why more and more brands are leaning into basics and essentials. But for designer Sarah Staudinger, it’s a reason to push her boundaries further. Or, as she asked during her appointments for her resort 2027 collection, “Where are the risk takers?”

You’ll find no lack of color, prints, or textures throughout her latest offering, designed with winter gatherings in mind. Her love of vintage even came in handy—this collection reimagined nostalgic styles that look as if they may have, at one point, lived in your grandmother’s closet and have been passed down from generation to generation. “The collection was built around this idea of relics and a celebration of the inheritance and memories of things we hold onto,” said Staud.

Slippers are rendered in a delicate pleated chantilly fabric, while a corset top comes in a romantic print and its matching jacket trimmed in fur, fit for any Wes Anderson film. A patchwork embroidered gown was one of the collection’s standouts—sure to look good in your closet for the years to come and even for future generations who might relish a Staudinger archival piece in the coming years.

One of Staudinger’s greatest attributes as a designer may just be her own discerning sense of personal style. Her lookbooks are filled with handy styling tips, especially this season, upon seeing combinations a customer might not have considered. Take a delicate olive-colored ruffle lace top, which is paired with a bold amethyst suede jean or matching sets, worn broken apart and paired with contrasting items like a casual t-shirt or a cable-knit sweater. A reminder that sometimes, it's fun to cut loose now and again.
