Ahead of Friday’s game, the White Sox announced that they had made a roster move.

The White Sox wrote (via X): “Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Seattle, the White Sox recalled left-handed pitcher Tyler Schweitzer from Class AAA Charlotte and designated right-hander Osvaldo Bido for assignment.”

Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Seattle, the White Sox recalled left-handed pitcher Tyler Schweitzer from Class AAA Charlotte and designated right-hander Osvaldo Bido for assignment.

Bido had started out his season with the Atlanta Braves (before getting claimed by Chicago).

This season, the 30-year-old has gone 2-0 with a 6.27 ERA in 11 games.

Social Media Reacts

Here’s what people were saying on social media:

@LockedOnSox: “Tyler Schweitzer gets another shot in the big leagues and Osvaldo Bido gets let go”

@PhD_NickRiviera: “Great news! Now DFA Acuña and Quero.”

@TheM_MJacket: “LOVE THIS MOVE!!!”

@ChiSoxFanMike: “We finally reached the point of the rebuild where they are dumping guys who aren’t pulling their weight. That’s refreshing to see.”

@Noahp245: “Schweitzer has strong numbers in AAA. Makes sense to give the innings to a 25 year old rather than a struggling veteran”

White Sox Right Now

The White Sox are currently 17-20 in 37 games, which has them as the third-place team in the American League Central.

They are 7-8 in the 15 games they have played at home.

Following three games with the Mariners, the White Sox will remain at home to host the Kansas City Royals.
