Ahead of their clash with the Golden State Warriors, the Utah Jazz are cutting ties with a player.
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Jazz are waiving Vince Williams Jr.
The decision comes a little over one month after the Jazz acquired Williams in the trade market before the deadline.
At the time, the Jazz struck a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. They landed one of the most notable players on the market in shocking fashion.

Jaren Jackson Jr. wasn’t known to be shopped around, but the rebuilding Jazz managed to get him off the Grizzlies’ hands. Alongside Jackson came Jock Landale, John Konchar, and Williams.
The Jazz parted ways with Kyle Anderson, Walter Clayton Jr., Taylor Hendricks, George Niang, and multiple first-round picks.
It was a win-now sort of move for the Jazz, but the deal was made with the future in mind. Unfortunately for Williams, he doesn’t seem to be a part of that future right now.

Back on February 24, Vince Williams Jr. was diagnosed with a torn ACL.
His season ended just weeks into his first stint with the Jazz.
Currently, Williams is in year three of a four-year deal. If a team picks him up, they’ll have to pay out the remainder of his $2.3 million contract for the 2025-2026 NBA season.
There is a team option attached to the deal, which is worth $2.4 million. The deadline for the option is June 29. Williams could have a difficult time finding a new situation right away, considering he can’t contribute to any team’s situation currently.
Williams entered the NBA as a second-round pick in 2022. The former VCU standout was selected 47th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Throughout his four-year run with the Grizzlies, Williams appeared in 128 games. He started 51 of those matchups, seeing the court for 21.7 minutes per game.
The veteran guard averaged 7.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
After landing on the Jazz, Williams appeared in six games, seeing the court for 14 minutes. He produced 4.7 points per game, along with 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 steals.
