For the 39th or 40th time, President Trump announced a deal encapsulating a “memorandum of understanding,” establishing a framework for an agreement to conclude the war with Iran and definitively end that rogue nation’s nuclear ambitions (“Trump on war: It’s a ‘wrap,’ ” June 12).

I’m sure this deal will be every bit as successful as the disarming of Hamas, the reclaiming of the Panama Canal and his annexation of Greenland. Next on the docket will likely be Cuba’s conversion into our 51st state and an executive order from our president renaming it after himself.

We are obviously not privy to the information that dictates the strategy for dealing with Iran but it’s time for President Trump to level with the American people on what exactly the plan is to end this conflict.

He is rapidly losing credibility even among his most ardent supporters, such as myself.

It’s starting to appear that the only way to restore the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz is to kowtow to a rogue nation that we were told we’d neutered through a massive military bombardment campaign that cost American lives and treasure.

President Trump, who is the terrorist who will sign this feckless agreement for the Iranians? Sounds like the deal is something like the one Barack Obama signed that you said was the worst in history.

Does it include releasing billions to the regime? Does it include lifting sanctions?

Is the agreement with the terrorist leaders who recently murdered 40,000 protesters and funded Iranian proxies to murder Israelis and Americans? Does the agreement give Iranians freedom from oppression while having to deal with 130% inflation?

The regime’s defenses have been obliterated and it is desperate for a deal. This is the time to finish the job, not appease terrorists who must surrender or die so we’ll never hear “Death to America” again.

Where is peace through strength, Mr. President? Maybe let Israel finish the job.

The Issue: The Department of Justice’s investigations of social-services fraud in Minnesota.

I have been following the allegations of rampant fraud in Minnesota to some degree (“Look Who Sided With the Fraudsters,” Editorial, June 11).

Evidently it took people a while to discover the problem. Maybe all they had to do was look at the misspelled sign Quality Learing (sic) Center to recognize that some things might be amiss.

New York’s courts have overturned numerous high-profile assault and murder convictions in cases investigated by highly decorated NYPD Det. Louis Scarcella, who was accused of misconduct for his investigative tactics.

Now that Minnesota’s government has been exposed for its corruptive behavior, isn’t it time for the Department of Justice to revisit the sham conviction of Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, who was charged with the death of career criminal George Floyd?
