The View hosts got into an intense debate while discussing Mark Cuban‘s new partnership with President Trump‘s TrumpRx.gov marketplace, which offers prescription and generic drugs at lower prices. While Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines said this venture could benefit average Americans, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin warned viewers against trusting or supporting any venture with Trump’s name on it.

Behar made her feelings clear when she said of Cuban’s new partnership: “You lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.”

“Correct!” Hostin said in agreement as Behar continued, “I like Mark Cuban, I’ve always liked him. But this is a mistake and once Trump puts his name on prescriptions, we’re all gonna die.”

Griffin clarified, “The drugs don’t actually have his name. They’re existing drugs, it’s a marketplace.” She then shared that a medication she had to take while undergoing IVF cost a fraction of the price on TrumpRx.

“It’s tacky that his name is on it,” she admitted. However, “The average family, a third of Americans, cut back on essential food and utilities to be able to cover their prescription drug costs. You’re not gonna convince me that just because Trump is involved, we should be like, ‘Screw it, don’t bring down prescription drug costs.'”

But Behar and Hostin doubled down against the venture. “If Trump is gonna make a profit from it, don’t take it,” Behar quipped.

Hostin added, “Correct! I completely agree with that. He is a failed businessman and if you heard what he said, he said, ‘We both want to make people wealthy.’ […] which means, to me, there’s something in it for him. This is not a well-intentioned person.”

“No, Americans are struggling,” Griffin maintained.

“He is not doing this out of the goodness of his heart. He’s doing this to make money,” Hostin fired back.

The debate seemed to hit a fever pitch just as Behar told Haines and Griffin, “You are so naive, the two of you.”

“So you’re saying that in the meantime, while he’s in office for the next two years, people should just not have access to cheaper drugs because he put his name on it?” Griffin pointed out. Behar then warned Griffin not to “believe anything he says,” prompting Griffin to respond, “It’s real! It’s right there.”

Whoopi Goldberg had to raise her hand to be able to interject in the tense debate as her co-hosts continued speaking over each other to get their point across.

Goldberg pointed out, “If it had been Mark Cuban’s name on it, we would not be having this discussion,” adding people are upset that Trump’s name is attached to it because “people have been really sort of screwed over the last few several years.”

Griffin doubled down one final time as Goldberg wrapped the tense segment up. “I would not want any American right now to be hesitant to buy drugs on this website. These are drugs that are trusted,” she claimed. “I don’t want to scare people away from getting cheaper drugs.”

Though Goldberg didn’t speak on whether or not Americans should use TrumpRx, she noted, “I think everybody should say be cautious when you see his name on it.”
