Miles Bridges is asking a judge to compel his ex-girlfriend Mychelle Johnson to undergo a psychological evaluation, claiming that she has become obsessed with his current significant other. 

TMZ reported on Monday that Bridges, who has faced several domestic violence allegations and pleaded no contest to one count of felony injuring a child’s parent in 2022, said in court documents that Johnson had an “obsessive fixation” on his new girlfriend and has been acting erratically over the past few months. 

Bridges claimed that Johnson has been failing to prioritize the needs of the four children that they share over her own grievances. 

Among the allegations Bridges made in the filing, he said that Johnson “initiates prolonged, emotionally charged communications during late-night and early-morning hours.”

The court filing includes alleged messages that Bridges claimed show an “intense and persistent preoccupation with” his new girlfriend. And that is the basis on which he is asking the court to make her undergo a “comprehensive psychological evaluation.”

Amid the claims, Bridges also accused Johnson of threatening to circulate “intimate information” about him, which she denied. 

The legal filing comes just days after it came to light that a Mecklenburg County judge granted Bridges a temporary restraining order against Johnson after it was alleged that she tampered with the tires on his car outside Spectrum Center while he was suited up for the Hornets on March 21. 

Bridges’ attorney Sean Lindsey filed an emergency motion on April 8.

It is alleged in the filing that someone recognized Johnson in the parking garage and when they called her name, she fled and ran from security, the Charlotte Observer reported. 

Bridges is seeking sole custody of their four kids. 

The NBA player had allegedly been involved in a disturbing domestic incident where Johnson accused Bridges of choking her, breaking her nose and giving her a concussion.

He faced charges of one felony count of injuring a child’s parent and two felony counts of child abuse. 

He pleaded no contest to the one felony count. 

Bridges had faced further domestic violence charges in a separate incident, but they were later dropped by prosecutors, who said that the charges would “not be successful at trial.”
